SIGN UP CHALLENGED!!

 Once again, I am unable to get into the raid sign up forums. I would like to sign up for Saturday's AQ raid but I can not get into the raid sign ups. It would seem that I am consistently challenged in my old age attempt at figuring these things out. ****Schmeea looks a bit sulky and red faced*****

Hopefully I can help you out. There is a known issue with ie7 and phpRaid so if you are using that I would suggest switching browser to a FireFox/Netscape/Mozzilla/Opera browser.

  1. Go to the registration page
  2. Fill in your account information
  3. For whatever reason the registration success message is in red like an error but if it is successful then proceed to the next step
  4. Login using the ID and Password box in the upper right.
  5. Now you have to create a profile, so click on the Profile link on the left hand menu
  6. On the profile screen, start with your Race and the other drop downs will start to populate. Make sure to put in the name of your character in place of "phpRaid". Make sure to put in accurate resistances so the raid leaders can plan around it.
  7. Review your profile and if there are no changes, click the "Add Character" button
At this point you will have a login to the site and a profile that you can use to signup for raids. Simply go to the raid in question and at the bottom of the page is a signup form. Select your profile, check place in queue if needed and add a description if needed then click the "Signup" button.

Let me know if you have any other problems.

I have also been having problems getting into the area, I did register, received an email confirming that I did make the account, I go back to the site and in the upper right hand corner is one box for login name, no place for password. I do have IE6 SP2 and it works on the DKP site, I was able to get onto there. I will see about getting firefox, but seeing as allot of peeps have IE there should be some way to fix the glitch or post a different way to work around it so others don't have to download a new browser just so sign up for raids, or is there some other add-on that might need to updated on my end to get the password box to appear.

Ok I now have tried to sign into the site using Firefox version 1.5 and still in the upper right hand corrner I only have the option of putting in my username and there is no place to put in a password. If I click on sign in I get You have specified an invalid username or password. Please try again. any new ideas, I am starting to feel like I need to become a rocket sicentiest to get into the site, just to make a profile. Thanks for all of your help Plankeye.
<looks for the spellchecker icon and then remembers he is using Firefox not IE to post this edit.>

***Schmeea looks very very red and embarrassed**** I figured out what I was doing wrong, old age definitely has it's downers, but the bright spot of the moment is, I figured it OUT!

LivingByFaith, I know the site works with IE6 SP2 and even appears to work now with the full release of IE7 and not the beta that was out the last couple of months.

The password field is to the right of the user id field and depending on your screen resolution, it might be getting cut off. Can you check to see if you have the ability to scroll right. And if you do not see it, please send me two things to help troubleshoot it to plankeye at toj dot cc. I need a screenshot of at least the upper right hand corner of the page. I also need you to right mouse button click on the page and choose view source. Save that file and include it in your email.

LivingByFaith, my email with an attached screenshot of where the login buttons are was bounced back by your mail server. So hopefully you see this here.

Even though these all look the same, they are actually different. Circled in red is the username input box. Move your cursor over it and it should change from an arrow to a type cursor. Circled in yellow is actually the password input box. Again, move your cursor over it and it should change from an arrow to a text cursor. Circled in green is the actual log in button. For whatever reason, the designer for the phpRaid script decided to make both input boxes and button look exactly the same which is always bad design. Hopefully this gets you going.

Thank you Plankeye for your help, I did find out where my problem was, I thought the area where the dots are, is where I was to be putting in my username, on my monitor (I guess I have a really cheap one or it starting to go out on me) but I couldn't see that box where the word username is was an entry box. But I did get it figured out. Thanks again for your help with this.
