several free Microsoft games

The design of DirectX in NT-based Windows operating systems prevents Sonic CD from running on Windows NT, 2000, XP (and probably Vista). To get Sonic CD to work on the said systems:

~ Run the installer in Windows 95 compatibility mode (Properties -> Compatibility tab -> "Windows 95") -- install as usual
~ Download and run this patch (don't worry -- spyware and virus free)
~ Play!

You also won't have the music, since the music runs off the CD. You can probably find Sonic CD's soundtrack on the web, burn an audio CD yourself and let it play in-game.

I own the actual CD of Sonic CD, it came with the PC. But it only runs on that PC. Its harder since its in 3D.

It is a nice find, ColdSteel, unfortuately for me, I own most of them on a CD and I don't even use them!
