The pvp server is pretty tame as far as griefing, but then again I'm a Ultima Online veteran so I'm used to really really bad griefing :-). There is alot of ganking of course, but thats what happens on a pvp server. Havent been playing all that much for the past month or so but from my experiances the non pvp servers seemed extremely boring. Going to TM and being able to go AFK in the middle of the road without worrying about returning to find my character being trampled by 3+ alliance kinda kills the experiance. Its world of WARcraft for crying out loud! I demand WAR!!! Besides, it keeps the level treadmill interesting even tho its frustrating to have DIE members decimating your party with a 15+ level advantage while your trying to finish a quest to get a nifty sword. Don't play on the pvp server if you dont have thick skin.

Anything else special/different to Normal and PvP servers?

I've tried both. Normal is alot easier, but not very good items. PvP slightly hard due to enemies ganging up at me, but I've found some items that I cant even use! 2 of them req lvl 40! I'm still lvl 9...

What we've already mentioned is basically it. There's not a whole lot of difference between the two.

Even though we are discussing about servers here, what about races...everybody will have their favourite race they'll want to play with

For Night Elves it's a real pain in the sock, but Humans, Dwarves, and Gnomes can all easily group up with each other right away.  It might take about 10-20 minutes, but it's not bad or anything painful.  Night Elves on the other hand have to take multiple griffon rides, boats, and a heck of a lot of walking before they can even see another Alliance city, and this takes about 30 minutes or longer.

I encourage everyone to create a Human, Dwarf, or Gnome character at first, and then in about two weeks we'll create some Night Elves (I'm really looking forward to creating a druid).

Actually the servers are the same other than the PvP element. If the mobs seems easier/harder or the items seem different, it's just the luck of the draw. The only other difference would be the tendencies of players that stem from playing on one server or another.

I hope you know what you're getting into. I played a druid to level 44 and did not have much fun with it. Druids have very little originality with their abilities, and their forms are just "samples" and clones of other classes. A lot of the druid abilities seem pretty unfinished and/or buggy. And there are a whole lot of other problems with them that I won't get into now.

Just a warning; while many people aren't happy with them, some people still enjoy druids.

yeah but talents are in and most druids i know enjoyed the class, as far as a NE, you will just have to take about 5 mins to run across your starting island, fly down to dark shore (free i believe) then pay some to take a boat to wetlands (i think theramore first then wetlands) then you fly to IF,(1.3s) and then you fly from IF down to SW, i did it with my NE worry at about lvl 13-15 the quests did not impress me much in darkshore so i left, though i do hear they have some really cool and fun quests that give a good bow and some trinkents .

You can no longer fly from menethil harbor to Ironforge automatically. You have to travel by foot through the Wetlands, through Loch Modan, then through Dun Morough.

Bowser may like playing a druid, but I'm just warning that after playing one for 44 levels, I saw a whole slew of problems with them that probably won't be fixed any time soon.

hey guys im new, but would like to join the guild when i get the game

anyways i vote for pvp, considering there will be strongholds and safer areas to play in - plus adding more depth, everyone likes depth!

Actually you can't do that

If you go to the graveyard and "res" then you'll just revive at the closest graveyard to your corpse. Blizzard implemented it a few months ago.

Easiest way would be to be summoned by a mage a warlock, although I suggest playing through the NE area because it's great zone.

Anyway, I'm all set in how I'm going to choose my characters and which order I will play them in. Human Paladin, then move to priest or warrior.

As for druids, it appears Blizzard (Found in a post) is FINALLY admitting druids need an overhaul, so hopefully they will get changes soon.

Dang, I'm so addicted to WoW...

Notice this post was started 19 days before public release and the latest response 8 days before the earliest date characters were created much less the guild being formed. I understand the point whoever moved this is trying to make but you need to look and realize that these post didnt include all those from KoT who came over to wow along with bledie and I and others who met up after actual release. If what I had to say bothers you feel free to tell me rather then trying to subtly make it look like Im mistaken in my recollection of the facts.

I apologize it was I who accidentally bumped this post, after reading your post I wanted to find this poll as I honestly did not remember the results of the poll, it appears I had not voted yet so to see the results I voted, which brought this post to the front. I did not bump this post with any intention of discrediting you or making your point invalid.

This post does show that prior to release we had a large number of people who wanted a PVP server, which does not invalidate people who joined later and decided that PVP was not for them. I can understand that some people wanted to play on a PVE server that is one of the reasons we setup the Horde PVE guild, but this has seen very little playtime from most of the members. Many people did not wish to lose the time invested on Illidan and then Stonemaul myself included but that does not mean we cannot branch out onto other servers.

I'm sorry if I sounded a bit harsh in my previous response. I guess I'm just frustrated over all the silliness occuring since I started HIS on Emerald Dream. All I want is for everyone to be able to have fun and feel a part no matter what server or guild branch they choose to be a part of.

Jazmina has a valid reason for starting HIS on Emerald Dream, to allieviate the pain that still exists on Stonemaul to some extent. Those people who are not happy on Stonemaul have a chance to move to an RP-PVP server where the people you play with are notoriously more mature than their peers on the normal servers... Stonemaul is a normal server. I think i speak for everyone, whether they will admit it or not when i say that i would much rather have another guild started by a seasoned TOJ member than having unhappy people on Stonemaul leave and eventually loose contact with them. Thanks for the clarification Melko, I do not mean any harm by posting this post.
