Seriously considering respec

Ok, I'm seriously considering to respec Avesther back to Shadow\Disc for a few weeks. She's been raid specced for over 7 months now and its been fun. I'm looking forward to doing some serious raw damage again.

Also, this will give some of the other priests a chance to spread their wings in the disc\holy tree's such as Mituba and Grador. I've put off changing spec because I've always known that Icthus and I were the only high level priests in the guild. I don't feel that I'm leaving the guild with out a healing priest by changing my spec anymore, hence I feel its time for me to spread my face melting wings a bit.

I always wanted to hit rank ten in PvP and I got to rank 9. But since then, I've been falling steadily because it is hard to balance PvP with PvE and the guild. With that, I'm going to strike out for a little while, and take some vengeance out on any horde that happen to cross my path, may they be Redeemed!!!
 
Talk to a few of the HK priest who have done it.

Bynz and Theslad.

I personally get better PvP experience as a running healer. It takes some time to find the guys going for GM, and once every two weeks your friends bar completely changes.

Shadow is however very viable to do the WSG run.

I think you are talking about the solo killing spree not what I do.

Shay's group was really cool.

Not quite as good as Daeriam and Nich's group. Went two weeks with no losses in that one.

It pays to be good at healing...

I refuse to duel locks, even lvl 1 alts! Although I want to find out if I can kill a person in a duel some day. It's really hard for a lock to loose to anyone even w/o a pet out, only class that perhaps pose a threat to locks are warriors that can do crazy dps while they have beserker rage on. I have better luck meleeing warriors than beating locks. Fear, Deathcoil, Howl of terror...fear-locked ftl. Now I want to play a lock for some reason, wonder why...
 
locks are overpowered...and yes I have nearly a 60 now. But I like how I can kill someone who's epic'ed out. GOGO Fear!

I respecced yesterday, you can check out the talents on my allakhazam profile, linked in my signature. All I can say, is WOW, what fun. I have never had such a blast doing PvP. Yeah yeah, healing in a BG is its own reward, it helps the team win because people are staying alive longer, you get more honor from winning the BG, yadda yadda.

You know what, after 7 months of being Disc\holy specced, I can honestly say, I never saw it. All that healing never translated to something I could tangably see and say, this is how I contributed. All that healing, rarely translated to HKs because the moment I start to heal, all the hordes attention transfered to me. I would die so early in the battle that I would get no HKs. It always left me asking "How is my healing supposed to help my side when all I see is the spirit rezzer?"

To counter that, I would often solo defend a node in AB, or solo defend the flag in WSG, or solo defend a GY or Tower in AV. I would only get 4 or 5 HKs for the entire battle, but I rarely saw the spirit rezzer.

Then came yesterday. WoW, oh, WoW. In one WSG, 35 Killing blows and 95 Honorable kills over 9 deaths. I never dreamed it. I thought it a fluke. In one hour in AV, I had 42 killing blows and 136 honorable kills. This was no fluke. I ended the night with 300+ Honorable kills, doubling my weeks total in a matter of a few hours of PvP. I was going through every class like hot knife to melted butter. Yes, I did have some issues with certain people, but that IMO, is just a skill difference and attributable to the fact that I was still learning the ways of the dark side.

Now before you go and say, look, this proves priests are over powered, consider this: As a disc\holy priest I did very well with sub par damage output, with a spec designed for mana conservation and healing. I spent over 7 months with this spec rackig up 20,000+ kills with it. I've become quite adept at PvP as a priest. One of the reasons I rolled a priest was because I was so tired as a 60 rogue hearing from priests how they couldn't beat rogues. I worked very hard on strategies that worked against rogues, warriors, warlocks, basically every class and through hard work, patience and practice, I managed to improve my PvP skill level to the point that I was able to defeat pretty much any class.

Now, if you take somebody who has worked that hard and up their raw damage output, all your going to get is a nearly unstopable killing machine. And believe you me, the horde felt it. There were warriors, rogues and shaman that would stop and turn the other way when they saw me coming because I had laid them out 5 times in a row before that. It was great and I so thoroughly enjoyed myself. I was as giddie as they come.

But alas, the big question is, will I stay with this specc? For a little while. A contributing factor to our best chance for success in MC is to have experienced priests that are specced to turn their mana into somebodies health in the most effiecent manner. When will I switch back to disc\holy? Not sure, maybe today, maybe friday, maybe next week.

But until that time, orc, troll, undead and tauren faces will melt at the hand of the Darth Avesther, dark lordess of the sith. May they be redeemed!!!

I see rank of PVP monster in your future....good for you...time to change it up. Samuraij has already been respecced to have Mortal Strike and only 15 pts in Protection, I can still tank, but I dish out ALOT more damage when in DPS mode....
