Seeking Community Relations Manager

Okay, so while going over a few hundred e-mails this weekend, I have a better idea of what e-mails I tend to put off replying to. One type that seemed to slip through the cracks more often than others was any e-mail from an outside organization asking for comment, advice, or establishing a relationship. These range from questionable link exchanges to legitimate Christian web sites.

I'd really like to appoint someone as our Community Relations Manager. I don't know if that's the right term, so I'll explain what I have in mind.

This person would receive all correspondence from outside parties, answer on behalf of the Christian Gamers Alliance when possible, and forward any more complicated matters to me with a short summary of the discussion so far.

My purpose in appointing someone to a Community Relations Manager position is to make sure that outside parties get a swift response. If they have to wait on me to reply, chances are the response won't be swift. (Sorry. I try, but there are only so many hours in a day and I'm still looking for a job.)

As I've said before, this community will only grow at the rate by which members volunteer and get involved. I can't make the community grow by myself. You all have to want the Alliance to grow and prove it by pitching in, even if it's only little things.

For this position, I would like to appoint someone over 18, excellent written communication skills, and a generally pleasant demeanor. If you think you'd be a good fit for the position, send me a PM and we can talk about it.

And if you have any questions about the position (which is to be expected, since I'm still trying to figure out exactly what the position will involve), please post a reply here.

once you get that filled maybe we should give that person their own e-mail address on the cgas erver as well?

Yep, that's the plan. I'd also like to look at setting up a Contact page/form where anyone that isn't a spammer can e-mail one of several CGA staff members.

First things first, though. We need more staff. :)
