Seeking answers if possible

So I'm fairly new here, and really I gotta say this site is great, it really is. I've been trying to become the man God wants me to be, and I'm a gamer...so this seems to be the place I've been looking for, for quite some time :D. So anywho, onto the topic, there has been a question I've been trying to find an answer to. I usually get mixed answers when I ask, or straight up idk's, so hopefully you guys can help me here.

1The Bible tells us that spells and the like are not to be practiced, but would this apply to video games? I mean I played a mage on WoW for about 6 months, but now I feel guitly for it >.<

Yes, the Bible tells us that spells and the like are not to be practiced.

As for playing your mage, tell me this: did you practice a spell or did you click a button on your keyboard that started a function and made some sprites animate?

The same thing applies to reading/watching fantasy. When you read Harry Potter, are you practicing the spells or just reading about something you know is fantasy?

Though if you're feeling guilty, I would suggest rolling a different class or choosing a different game. Can't go against our conscience when it comes to these things.

Keero is right. While there is very little similarity between the actions banned in the Bible and those commonly found in video games, movies, and books, it is nonetheless true that it is never good to go against your own conscience.

The word for 'conscience' in Paul's writings refers to the stoic idea of conscience, that being social constraints and what you have been raised to and do feel is right or wrong. Paul said that Christians should not violate this or force each other to do so.

Unless you receive a direct command from God to overrule your conscience, follow it. As Elader Arkon once said, If you can't get a good feel about it, drop it, don't look back, and thank God for the decision.

Excellent advice from Keero and Neirai.

The hard part is not insisting your conscience be the conscience of others. Remember Romans 14.

Lol shazaaam! A game is just that, a game! I play counter strike 1.6 and source which means deleting manipulated bots, they are not human so I look at as it nailing digital bulls eyes! I shoot lol and most of the time I'm the one that falls over but the talk continues after, before, and during! To say I am doing wrong in my eyes is the same as saying I can create an equal to who or whom is before me. Love is our guide for pleasure and for influence!
