Just saw on the news;
a library has moved all Lance Armstrong
books to the Fiction section.

And posted a sign stating "due to his lies all Lance Armstrong reading materials have been moved to the fiction section"

whats your thoughts?

my thoughts are the guy is a cheater and a cheat and a fraud and I want to ask my library to do the same.

It's terrible that doping is so common in so many sports. I don't envy the professional athletes that have to face that temptation.

I was never good at sports, Because i'm afraid of needles :D

it is terrible..it's one thing to lie, but to make millions of dollars from it is bad

What he did was cheating and lying. What they did was spiteful and hateful. I honestly see what they did as worse than what he did.

And each baseball player who took steroids and wrote a biography should also be transferred to the fiction section as well. Pete Rose coming clean about gambling while playing baseball should stay in the non-fiction section :

I'm going to agree with this. It's not easy being the best in the world at anything physical, cheating or no, and the amount of pressure involved must be insane. A lot of it likely comes from sponsors/etc, too. Add to that the fact that you know others are doping/taking drugs/etc as well. I know I've certainly lied/cheated for less, and I'm sure Lance will be paying plenty.

I wonder what the world would look like if doping was allowed? I mean each of those athletes spending hundreds of thousands on performance bikes , gear, equipment. Why not some "vitamins"? At minimum it would level the playing field. If Lance was so hard to catch all these years it basically means that checking for doping is not working at all.

I think the issue with sports and allowing anything is that it becomes a requirement. Let's say, for example, we allow doping. We know doping gives an advantage. Now every single professional athlete has to dope. Same for steroids, etc.

It's a tough line to walk to keep balance while also making an even playing field for everyone. The other problem is that no matter what you do, there will always be an advantage to cheat.
