SATURDAY 40 MAN RAIDS

Manifique! I like! Another Fantastic Idea!

Like other I'm sure...4th QTR, work, and RL cutting into WOW time. I believe this is an excellent compromise to achieve our end goal and get more more involved in MC. To that end, I think postings for Team Infinity wanna bees need to be made. Postings such as Molten Core attunement, Tier 0 requirement, Tank requirements...etc. It is my hopes they can benefit and progress by learning from our experience and get more enjoyment while they learn. All battles are good because we learn from them regardless of outcome;but successes are just that much sweeter! GO TEAM INFINITY!

Yes, this sounds like a pretty cool idea. I may be able to go more often and get better aquinted with MC this way.

Well saturdays would be ok for 40man raids if maybe they was later instead of earlier.I mean most people who have to work on weekends or every other weekend like myself, on my weekends off especially saturdays are usually me and my wifes date night so im not home at 8pm est or 5st which ever, so maybe we could do 40 man raids on saturdays but at like 7st or 8st which would be a great time for me and i think most people in eastern time zone.

Historically, Saturday is bad for signups. Its not just this saturday past, but all of them in the past. People who signed up didn't come, people who are experienced didn't sign up. The people who did come, bless their hearts, are not geared nor experienced for a Domo \ Rag fight. They are better off starting with Luci \ Mag. They are less gear dependant then Domo is. Satuday, even with a full 40, we hit the exact same problem we did a month ago. Get some adds down then the priests are out of mana because we have to heal people whos gear are not helping them survive more then one or two hits and the DPS just wasn't there to kill the mobs fast enough. Bringing bodies just to fill spots on a domo\rag fight is just bad strategy. It works fine on Luci and Mag.

To this end, I've come up with an idea: Bannards Beginner MC. It will be a MC run for new to 60, new to MC people and for our main team's alts. (we will still need some experienced MC people to sign up to make this work) It will only be Lucifron and Magmaddar fights. It will take approx. 1.5 hours, happen on a week night and is considered a learning run. That is, we will take the time to explain trash and peoples roles in it. We will take the time to explain boss fights and peoples roles in it. Eventually, as the main teams need for gear off the early bosses diminishes, the further into MC Team Infinity will go. This will leave fewer and fewer bosses for Team Eternity to complete on Friday on their push to Rag. Eventually, Team Infinity will take over MC and the main push of Team Eternity will move into BWL.

I would just like to say that i would love to be in more mc's and other raids and i don't know if iam the only one who is unable to be in most raids due to times that the raids start and when iam able to get online the raids are either done with or near the end of them.So iam having mixed feelings of having team eternity and team infinity it makes me feel like im in highschool and whether i will be on the varsity or jv team, i understand if there is a grp of players who have all or most of their tier 1 or 2 armor sets and better weapons and can always do the raids and then there are people like me who can't be in alot of full raids or raids at all because of the times the raids always begin and who haven't had the chance to be able to get our tier 1 or 2 armor sets and so i feel like iam part of the jv grp of people in the guild and iam given chances on getting into raids when i come on, but to cancel saturday night mc raids because the people who are in the varsity team either can't or don't show up and so therefore the people who are in the jv team can't even get the chance to go into mc and maybe start getting thier armor is wrong. So i think we need to find out why people don't show up for saturday raids and see if we can come up with a solution? so that we can let people who maybe can't do raids during the week have the chance on doing them on the weekends? even if they don't have the best armor for mc they will eventually and so will i, it will just take me longer than most of the people in te, and thats just because of what times raids are started, and while we are trying to find solutions maybe we can possibly do late night raids maybe not 40 man but we could do 20 man late night raids?.

Obeservations about Late Night Saturday Raiding

I can understand your point of view Augustious; but as being a long time raider I would like to share some observations:

1) In the current raiding model; Wed Friday; MC is completed on Friday Night and all players are saved. So they could not run a new MC instance Saturday even if they wanted too. I suppose they could run if trash respawns, but there would be limited trash and no bosses. Giants and Flameguys...me thinks.

2) If you go to lunch and order a pizza, its hard to get them all to agree; so you make compromises. The good of the many outweighs the good of the few or the one. This related to raid times and days chosen. Most of TE raiders have committed to Friday, now if TI raiders who are being trained to replace TE raiders that will move to BWL on Fridays and Saturdays work better for them; that would be up to TI raid leaders to decide time and days. I can tell you as I am a raid leader; scheduling and filling the slots with qualified players is the most challenging next to the boss strategies.

3)If you wish to put together a raiding group for late Sat nights...more power to you; you guys could work on trash etc with 20. But you would have to find players that did not run with TI or TE of that week as they would be saved. Empowered guildys is what we want!

4) With respect to your team analogy; you are somewhat correct with regards to instance experience; not necessarily skill. But think of it this way too; tell your coach you wanna play but you only can play games on certain nights regardless of what the game schedule is. Coach will probably say; your more than welcome to play on the games you can make; sorry about the ones you can not; team still has to play.

Again these are just obeservations; I am in no way discounting or criticizing your posting or feelings on this matter Augustious as I truly care....thus the reason I felt compelled to post.

Using the football analogy, the best way to describe why I cancelled running any 40 man raids on Saturday was that the only bosses left in MC for us to kill were seasoned NFL teams. The best group we could put together was a high school football team.

On friday, we cleared the first 8 bosses. There was no opportunity at all for the saturday crew to even upgrade their gear. MC (and all the raid instances) are not like the 5 man instances in that they completely respawn after a period. The only time the bosses in MC respawn in Tuesday during Maintenance. If you take out a boss in MC, you are saved to that instance, which means everytime you enter MC, even if you are in a different raid group, you will enter the copy of the instance of which you are saved to.

The only solution to the problem was to put the high school football team against the equivalent level bosses. Which are the first few bosses, which means they have to be in the instance before Friday, not after.

You could say, well there are other 40 man raids. (Remember, I'm not talking about 20 man raids here). And you would be right. BWL, AQ40 and Naxx are all 40 man raids we could do on Saturday. But in all of them, even the first bosses are harder then the last bosses in MC. If a high school team was no match for the NFL teams, what chance do they have against bosses who are harder then the NFL teams?

==========

My understanding is that there is a whole group (like 10 or so) of people transfering to Stonemaul who have later start times. It is entirely possible that a later start time for 20 man raids can be found when they transfer over.
