Rules of thumbs regarding Priests

Theres a fine line inbetween going RAMBO and having a healthy pulling pace. I believe that a good pace helps keep everyone on their toes. And it makes the instance go by faster.

Faster does not always equal effective. I would rather be safer and make it through then rush the pulls and wipe a few times.

As a lowbie priest I find that I am very bad at managing aggro, when I get someone on me I tend to forget about the group and beat the snot out of this stupid mob...yes I am shadow spec, so it's best if you can keep the aggro OFF the priest, if I try to heal you while I am being beaten on it takes twice as long or more. If you need healing it's better to have no aggro on the priest, you may lose health faster but you will get a heal much faster then they can kill you. As for the always group with them I totaly agree, I always enjoy healing over killing anyday, it's easier and it's faster, those casts take much less mana. Aslo as for the other healer thing I totaly agree as well, a pally and a druid are both nice, but they are no replacement to a priest.

There is my input.

Sure it can. In DM west with mirakle and quantam in his shadowform, i was pulling with my wand when they were still manaing up. Chainpulling saves everyone time and it helps everyone to remain aware of whats happening. A smart puller wont pull if anyone is at or below half mana.

There is also the multiple pull- let the rogue offtank while hunter/mage burn it down then everyone jump on the one the tank has Reco. I've played it all ways, kinda depends on the group. IMO what ive seen it seems tanks have a hard time keeping aggro on multiple mobs if everyone is attacking one and all the aggro on the add is a few taunts. A couple greater healing spells seem to pull it pretty easy. Some tanks will get a few sunders on adds too but its still hard to do that and keep aggro on the mob everyone is nuking down. I sometimes pull aggro on trash in low level instas(always wait for sunders on bosses, and everything in MC, etc) but especially on multiple pulls I would rather the healer have to deal with healing me a little more(evasion tank FTW!) then trying to pull it off the healer if it aggros them instead. I like to keep my squishies' screen clear of mobs in their face.

About grinding I levelled a warlock to 45 as my main before I got my wife involved in the game, she made a priest and I made my rogue and it went a lot faster with a pocket priest:P Course thats also how I learned the tank mentality:) At least on small stuff:)
