After 35+ game *days* played, 29,616 Horde slaughtered and 3500+ gold spent, I am proud (hmmm I should rethink that) to say I have achived Rank 11, Commander. It has been my goal since early December 2005 to spin a rogue with the sole purpose of pvp'ing with her and achieve Rank 11 in order to get the Commander's mount. With many countless hours in queue and more loses then wins, at this stage, I can not imagine ever doing it again :) but alas, it is time to celebrate and I have taken some images of my new mount in areas of the World that I spent piles of time in outside of BG's. I wanted to give thanks first to my son who had to endure his father's promptings to get more HK's during the day. I could have not done it without his help. I also want to thank my guild for their patience in my pvp indulgence's.

I went back through the pictures twice thinking maybe I missed something, but I do not see a picture of a mount with no Rueage.


Congrats Adam. The mount looks fantastic. I do have a few questions to ask you about your "quest" for that mount. I know it takes rank 11 to get that along with being exalted in Darnassus. What I am wondering though is did you pvp at each level or did you wait until level 19, 29, 39, etc, to do BG so you could be more effective?

Also, is there a max rank that you can receive at say each level? Meaning, I know you can not get rank 11 at level 20, atleast I don't think you can.

Grats! Yeah I have thought about doing that same thing, and if I did I think I too would spend a lot of time fishing with my toon, and doing AH stuff. Who knows perhaps I would get rich doing it.

One thing I really wish Blizzard would do would be to make it possible for you to return to the closest FP (or safe zone) to where were before you got called into a BG. While it doesn't matter as much at lvl 60, from 1-59 it would help, since you could spend the "downtime" questing. Especially if you set your hearthstone to the area you wanted to quest in so you could get there quickly.

Chris, to answer your questions, what I did was at each bracket (20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60) I would power level to the middle of each bracket in 2 or 3 days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) so I would be ready at 25, 35, 45, 55 to hit BG hard for Fridays. Yes there is a cap which you can find here under "Level Limits". Throughout my time pvping, I maintained the highest rank for the lowest level on the server, translated, this means I was always within one rank of topping my particular level.

Thank you for the link. Just to make sure I was looking in the right spot and was reading it correctly, a minimum level of 53 is required to be Rank 11. Is this correct?

Also to make sure I'm reading it correctly, with Unreasonable being level 19 now, I can get a max rank of level 3, Sergeant. Is this correct as well?

so all this stuff youve collected due to rank in PvP...
Im assuming you'll be cutting back time on PvP now so your rank will start to drop. are you still able to have stuff from higher ranks than what you currently hold?
 
Yes, it is based on your highest achieved rank, so all my gear and mount will be able to be used when I am a private again in about 5 months :)
 
You dont use the Worlddefense channel as an eliteist channel like they do on Stonemaul do you?
