I loved the original punch out (Mike Tyson edition) and still have it sitting in my room. This one is a definite buy for me, but I'm probably going to wait for the first price drop, just cuz I don't need it that badly.

If they put Tyson back in (not that I want them to, blarg) they could make his attack the ear gnaw :p .

They should have made Mario the referee like in the old one though :/ .

agreed!

Aye, I can't see spending $50 on Punch-Out!!, even with its multiplayer features. If the game cost $40 or even $30, maybe.

I also have fond memories of playing Punch-Out when I was younger. I had the Mike Tyson version of the game and actually managed to beat the game a few times.

On an interesting side note: Nintendo is catching a lot more flak for ethnic stereotypes this time around. Makes one re-examine classic video games, no?

Yeah you know it's going to be as short as all get out so I can't see me ever paying $50 for it. Point is moot I don't have a wii but I can dream can't I! (my dreams always turn out better than the actual thing anyway :p)

I only rented it once so I don't feel so bad at not getting far in it. Although I generally could beat most games on a rental or two.

It makes me want to hurl at pc'ness of modern society XD. The wacky stereotyped characters are what made Punch Out soooo neat (cough, TF2, cough :p).

Ok Tek don't tell me you don't play Contra with Ember! That's like one of the top two player co-op games ever (ok it's rather short too). Well ok there is also the whole beat'em up and light gun game genres but that's different.

I doubt Ember would be interested in a game as difficult as Contra.

We've played Streets of Rage 2 and Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles and enjoyed them both.

I only wish there were more solid brawlers for the current and previous generation of consoles. It's extraordinarily lame that The Bouncer is single-player only.

My wife was excited to learn about the Turtles in Time remake, though. I'm hoping it's released on WiiWare.

I think it depends which one you play. The old nes and snes ones where ok. The ones made after that where supposed to be badly done and then later they started making better but really hard ones or so I have heard.

The Bouncer was just lame period XD. The best thing about it is holographic store display I got. Turtles in Time was good though :D.

Brawlers have certainly been neglected since their golden age. Double Dragon, Final Fight and the one that should have a remake made but never has River City Ransom.

QFT.

Elihu and I played that for hours and hours during the golden era of NES games. It's my second favorite brawler (after Streets of Rage 2).

I quantify MechWarrior as "retro" because I played the original one on a 386DX. This one:

So I'm wicked excited about the guys doing a full crysis-engine mod titled MechWarrior: Living Legends.
