Resistance and Soaker gear?

I've seen a few fights where it becomes quite necessary to have a resistance soaker - a fire resistant mage in Gruul, Arcane resistant (any one person) for Curator...

Have we seen an additional need for any other fights? I've been running across quite a bit of green drop gear with high stam, high single resistance. Is it worth shuttling to a bankalt for use later? Is anyone even collecting gear like this?

I know that the crafted gear is much better, but I know in some cases, the gear is rather costly or difficult to find people with the patterns we need. Would this kind of gear be sufficient until we get more gear crafted?
 
I believe there is one more fight in Kara that a soaker would be nice for. Let me look at the bosses again and make sure.
 
I know you guys downed curator, (grats btw) but Lloki can make the two higher (boots and robe) for the arcane resist if there's a clothie that needs the stam and arc resist. Doesn't even require imbued netherweave, I have the cloth, would just need dust for it.
 
From what I've done of Kara, yes I've been the whole way through all bosses the night before I stopped playing, no one in the party used any resistant gear period. Also in Gruul only the one mage in FR gear is needed for all of that.

The reason I was told as to no AR gear or anything else in Kara (yes I did bring mine) was it's better to have everyone hammer the boss and the adds then to worry about people giving up so much in dps for the fights.

Like I said I don't know what you guys are doing, but sounds like your doing great, just what I've learned alogn the way.
 
Our last downage of the Curator I went with out the AR, I forgot to put it on. It does help in the healing department.

Is a soaker needed, not really. But it makes it easier on the healers. For the Curator the person with the highest health gets hit with an arcane bolt. So it is nice to have one person with the gear on to soak up the effect instead of it going around the group.

We have gotten the group good enough and with enough dmg that it is definitely getting easier.
