Stc wants his computer to go WHOOSH! and i want some RAM for my computer with some Christmas money :).

Right now i have (2) 256 cards. My computer only has two slots. So i would need to buy (2) 512 to get a boost right? And my dad looked online and they were like 80 bucks each (i think).

So my question is
A) I think there are different kinds of RAM, if so, what kind should i get/need
B)Any place i can get for cheap? :o

first of all..what motherboard make and model is this? need that information before we can intelligently answer.
 
We would need to know what RAM type it supports, is it a SDRAM, DDR2,DDR3, DDR1, how many gigs will your board carry? (not how many slots there are but how many the manufacture says it will carry)

to answer your second question, Crucial makes some pretty good RAM (unless they've gone downhill recently and i've not heard of it). if you don't buy direct from them, you might want to check out newegg.
 
I think im going to get a 1GB thing from Crucial. I like them.. they did everything for me ;).
