No, I haven't given up on upgrading my system yet. I'm just waiting on better sales.
While I do, I'd at least like to slim down my list of options for video cards and mainboards.
For video cards, I'm looking at Radeon HD 7850, Radeon HD 7870, GeForce 560 Ti, and GeForce 660 Ti cards.
At this time (and this is highly subject to change), I'm leaning toward either the Radeon HD 7870 or the GeForce 660 Ti cards. I have no particular allegiance to either brand as I've had positive and negative experiences with both ATI/AMD and nVIDIA.
I don't want this to turn into an AMD vs. nVIDIA fanboy war, but I understand previous experiences (both positive and negative) will come into play. Just please check your hyperbole (e.g. COMPANY X IS THE GRATEST EVAR, COMPANY Y IS TEH DEVIL) at the door.
Budget remains an issue, but I've remembered how much I dislike researching hardware for personal purchase (thus why I'm asking the CGA community for help) and I don't want to have to do this again for 3-5 years while still having a current rig to play at least most new PC games at mid-high graphics settings.
