PvP - ViM Trappers - Friday, June 23

what I noticed with the traps going off they almost die a few times add in the quick touch ranger...... Maybe

the touch rangers just dont really do enough damage when compared to what a good warrior can do, but they cant be blinded and most debuffs for casters dont affect them

I can do 120 DMG in less than 2 seconds with a touch ranger and 220 + in exactly 3.25 seconds I would like to see a warrior do that :). And as Vibro said cannot really be blocked or evaded.

healing monks are a pain to kill as they have a large tendacy to "kite" reducing the damage and survivability of the build

That's why I like hammer warriors so much, although we tend to avoid them in our PvP groups. Knocking those suckas down has very strong merits - not to mention the damage hammers do that can easily make up for a slower attack rate.

those warriors are receiving a ton of healing from the dual smite, i estimate it around 100 health per second when i do the build. a good dual smite will do 37+26+37+26 per second which hurts ALOT.

I'm not familiar with dual smite - is it an echoed smite?

Dual Smite is 2 AoE smite monks (my build at http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/User:Sakkaku), 2 shock wars(usually hammer and axe), a taint/warder and the 3 monks (sb/infuse, woh/hp, and rc/prot)

Dual smite baked our cake and made us eat it the last time we faced it with our VIM. The monks are obviously capable of protecting the smiters, and each other too when we go after them. So I think our warriors should probably go after the smiters, and trappers should focus on opposing warriors first. Our traps are very warrior-unfriendly and the monks may be less likely to waste healing spells on the wars when the smiters are in danger.

Vibro also mentioned the idea of QZ as a method for making all the monk stuff more expensive. We had QZ with us when we faced a dual smite group the other night, but our pick-up guy probably didn't drop it (or at least it wasn't kept up.) I think with QZ down and damage spread out between both the warriors and smiters as above, we can shut down dual smite.

the warriors have Reversal and Guardian spammed on them tho, usually healing about 70 a second, plus they have the vim bane the rc/prot

Sure, I'm just saying the monks will probably be hitting the smiters with those instead of the warriors if we engage in a 2-front attack - especially since our QZ makes reversal and guardian a lot harder to spam.

Yeah we have beaten Duel Smite quite a few times with ViM. With Guildies even. We have lost many times to them as well.

the problem with dual smite is half the ability of the team hitches on the warriors, which is bad bad and bad.

Unless your like SP who has the world on his shoulder's and still does fine. ;)
:D

Lol - a little self-congratulatory, but definitely accurate. :)

Haha, in all seriousness if SP had the world on his shoulder's he would look like that pancake on the rabbit's head. :D

You're right about QZ. Our pickup guys were notoriously BAD about dropping QZ. One time out they both had QZ and I had it. I was supposed to be QZ3, but guess who kept having to set it? Yep, me. So that was indeed a big problem. With three, it should never have gone down. But it always had to wait til I had the recharge or energy to put it up again.
