I decided to give everyone an option on what we are going to do tonight. Whichever you vote for please post what you can or are willing to bring! Please only vote if you plan on being there!
 
I'll just post it here C$, in case anyone else needs the info:

VIM trapper is a R/W with 16 Wilderness Survival, 13 Expertise and 3 Tactics. You use a rune of superior wilderness survival and a rune of minor expertise and you use the + energy armor. For a weapon you bring a + energy staff (ideally at least +15 energy). It doesn't matter what the staff does other than + energy, so it can be a necro staff, ritualist staff, etc. You will not need a bow. If you build the trapper correctly you should have at least 45 energy.

The skills you must have for this build are (1) Victory is Mine (elite warrior skill), (2) Res signet, (3) Healing Spring, (4) either Whirling or Dryder's Defense, and (5-6) at least 2 wilderness survival-based traps (such as dust, flame, barbed). You will also need to bring a spirit (7), which will be either frozen soil, quickening zephyr, nature's renewal or tranquility, whichever you have and the group needs. For my final slot I like to have serpent's quickness to speed up my trap recharge even more - but either a third trap or a second evasion skill (whirling/dryder's defense) are also good choices.

The strategy for the trapper is very, very simple. You double-click on the trapper leader and go wherever he/she goes, and drop traps when he/she drops them. You also try to 'body block' opposing players to trap them so you can trap them. :P To avoid having your traps interrupted you hit your defense (whirling/dryders) before you drop your traps. You stay as close to the other trappers as possible (don't get separated from the group) and spam healing spring all the time, which is the only healing the group will have - and the only hope for the group surviving spikes, etc.

Can you guess my vote? I gave up my spot on the last round, so I need to TRAP TRAP TRAP!

But I will gladly play Maid Mirawyn if the vote goes for Balanced, so don't leave me out!

"He/she" is very important, because so often it's a HE playing a SHE. :p

Or because, on rare ocassions when they twist my arm, I'm lead trap.

But seriously, ViM trapping is easy to learn, and tons of fun. They won't make you lead trap if you don't want to (unless you're me, in which case they make you do it anyway). In fact, if you're new, they can put you at the bottom of the party so there is always someone to follow.
 
FWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Sounds interesting. I wonder why we don't do Minion Factory anymore (wait, it was nerfinated, right? :( )
 
I should be around by then and can play either VIM (capped it on my ranger) or a balanced....

I'll check back here and see later what the results were. :)
 
Is it how many minions per person or per team or what
It depends on the caster's attribute score in Death Magic. At max, you can only do ten minions; we used to get so many minions running per necro that I would lose count. (The tricky part as the rezmer was avoiding getting body blocked by them!)

It works now-SORTA. Really need more minions for max effectiveness.
 
Balanced says HoH...where is VIM trappers going?

We'd be doing HoH, or maybe AvA if we don't have enough show up for HoH. Never had much luck with trapping in GvG, though I wouldn't be opposed to try it again sometime. Not sure if the playing format was the issue when we tried it before, or if the opposing builds common to GvG tended to be tough for us. Maybe both. :rolleyes:

VIM has now won the poll. And that is what we will be doing and it will be in HoH a few trappers in GvG do work as well to hold the flag stand. We can tweek thinks a little and do some GvG after a few HoH runs or something.
