Legacy of Elijah Officer
With the reported success of the ViM Trappers build on Monday in Heroe's Ascent, I was wondering if we want to do that again tonight?

If you plan to participate, please meet at the guild hall (and TS) at about 9:50PM EDT tonight and we'll try to get started as close to 10pm as possible.

Sounds great, Mirawyn and I should both be able to play tonight, but due to a 12AM showing of XIII this morning and resulting lack of sleep we won't be able to play TOO late tonight.

One quick idea to throw out there, I once brought a ritualist along in one of our VIM builds and some people said they thought it worked out pretty well. I'd be inclined to bring a ritualist/warrior tonight with VIM and some protective spirits such as shelter for anti-spike and dissonance for blinding opposing warriors and rangers (another "condition" for VIM), in order to evaluate how useful a rit can be in a VIM trapping group. If you'd rather me just bring a ranger or warrior instead just let me know.

[EDIT - As of now it is past 10 PM and I am still waiting around at Mirawyn's workplace for her to finish a rush job. :( Sorry about that! Hope you guys end up with enough to put a good group together tonight, and happy hunting!]

Pffft...PVP. Every PVP experience I've had is like doing Dragon's Throat with a bad PUG. (Not saying you guys aren't skilled at PVP. I'm just saying that's about how long I usually last. :p )

Sorry, guys! It ended up being a 15 1/2 hour day for me! And Paul came up to the office to keep me company...since I was the only person there! Blame my client. Or rather, blame her boss...

I blame windows for allowing people to think that delays and staying up late fixing your computer is actually good for you

Just thought I'd share a quick report, we filled a team out with [GOD] and [CGG] people and went. We went 2-2. One win was good, the other, they all resigned after summing up our build, they must have decided it would take too long to even attempt to beat us.

Of the losses, both were pretty good matches. One was against the guild ranked 64 on the GvG ladder. That match went about 20 minutes and even after a few people from both sides got disconnected, we lost a really close fight. They even complimented our build at the end.

Great job everyone.

After my foray into PvP with this bunch the other night I have to admit how fun the VIM Trapper build is to my trapper (have to admit that I like trapping a lot anyway).

I had much fun with the old minion factory build and have wondered if I could find anything that could come close to that as far as being sheer fun. I think VIM Trappers does. I'm speaking strictly from the viewpoint of a trapper.

I think the reason that I like it is because I don't have to think a lot (and thus open myself up to my own second-guessing if I did the right things).

Andrew and Derk were good about directing us where to trap. You just lay traps as soon as they recharge, spam healing spring as soon as its recharged, and hit VIM if your health starts dropping. Simple......even an old man can do that.

We also were very competitive even when we lost. I'll be back when we run this build.

Agreed. I loooove ViM Trapping. It's so fun, and hard to mess up. I just run around behind Dredd and trap where he tells me. Then the other people stay away or they die! If they stay away, we get to mock them! It's great!

Hate to have missed it, but I didn't leave work til after midnight. Ick. Stupid yearbook!
