I started playing WoW on christmas day when I finally got the game and I must say I have way to many charecters all running on the stonemaul server I have a level 15 NE priest a level 19 Human rogue a level 7 Gnome Warrior a level 9 Human Pally and a level 7 NE hunter, and my sister started a level 1 human Warlock on my user to try the game out. out of many of my charecters my lvl 14 priest has the highest level of professions with over 100 in everything but first aid. I believe between all of my charecters I have every profitable profession (except engineering) in the game and I have to know from some people with high level professions...What is the most profitable of them all

i will abstain from voting. I need to vote for more than one.

First at low levels nothing makes lots of cash... But you ALWAYS want gathering professions: mining, herbalism and skinning. Pick two until you get to 50 or 60.

then you power level enchanting. Enchanting high end is a HUGE money maker, but you have to be able to do high end stuff. And it takes lots of shiney to make it to high end enchanting.

So to review- gather stuff do not make stuff.

Yeah my priest has herblisim and alchmey and I can make a load of money. being that his skills are really high for his level I can make Elixers of Water Breathing and in the AH those sell for 50s to 1g a pice.:D

As a low level, and I have experience with the current low level state of the game, I'd definately go mining or herbalism since there's generally so few players in these areas I've been able to gather 100 copper ore in an hour several times. Of course you smelt that and currently 20 copper bars goes for one and a half gold easy.

Well, one thing's for sure, you didn't need to even put engineering as an option. I've leveled it to 240 and I don't think i've made so much as penny off of it. You do get some great devices with it though. I have no experience with any professions other than mining, the fruits of which alway end up going into leveling my engineering. If you want to sell your metal instead though, I think you could make a goodly amount of money. I'm going to abstain from voting.

Once you get established and cash flow isn't so much an issue you might want to check with Fjourboug (however you spell it) to see what you can take up to help out the guild.

yes I have yet to join the guild but I probably will try to join some time this weekend...I am not allowed to play till friday and then I can only play till sunday.:(

Also I like the mining Idea only problem is that the charecter I have that has mining is only level 7...my gnome warrior.

mining can be a challenge especially at higher levels when nodes are scarce.

I would suggest herbalism and skinning...you will be killnig lot of "skinnables" as you level to 60.

As you level a harvesting skill will likely get you the most money for your time investment. I've reached 300 with Enchanting, Tailoring, Alchemy, herbalism so far and out of these I think Herbalism and Tailoring have made me the most money.

People say enchanting is a big money maker but it requires a hole lot of time investment spamming chat in Ironforge that I never do. Tailoring I just buy a bunch of mats for bags and put them on the auction house (really only doable with runecloth bags) and for herbalism most of the herbs are easy to find and sell for a good return.

Yea but we were talking profitable, especially at lower levels.
