Preparing for 1.9 and Silithus

Folks, as many know Demetrius has been very interested in having us be prepared for Silithus. The following information is what is necessary for the "Field duty" quests that will come in 1.9.

From Demetrius:
"Here is the latest on the field duty quest from 1.9 silithus. They appear to be making all 7 items in revered/exalted epics. For exalted the Mark of Romulus will require 1 Skin of Shadow and 3 Abom stitchings, all bop and that Mark swapped with Cenarius for Revered/Exalted in this last 1.9 test server patch.

It would be wise for our 50s and 60s to begin storing up mats for the logistics quests."

Alchemy: Oils of Immolation
Blacksmithing: Moonsteel Broadswords
Enchanting: Large Brilliant Shard, Large Radiant Shard, Enchanted Thorium/Leather, dream dust/lesser eternal essence for making this stuff
Engineering: Goblin Rocket Fuel, Dense Blasting Powder
Herbalism: firebloom/goldthorn mats for making this stuff
Leatherworking: Rugged Armor/Heavy Armor Kits
Mining: Huge Emerald, dense stone/heavy stones for makeing this stuff
Skinning: rugged/heavy leather mats for making this stuff
Tailoring: ? not sure
Secondary Skills:
Cooking: Smoke Desert Dumplings,
First Aid: Heavy Runecloth/Silk/Wool Bandages, Powerful Anti-venom
Fishing: ? not sure
General Gathering
Globes of Water
Twilight Cultist Robe
BOP: Abom stitch, Skin of Shadow (we might want to schedule guild runs to Strath Dead, Scholo to get these items for those who need em)

Logistics Quests (collect and turn in this stuff)

As you can see the cost in terms of mats and time is huge so each of us needs to consider our level of support regarding the collection and participation of preparing for this series of quests. More information will be forthcoming but please feel free to post here any questions or thoughts you might have regarding this. I am sure we'll hear from Demetrius regarding this in the near future.
 
I guess one question is what are the benefits to doing those items? Looks like alot of stuff and may be worth it in the long run depending on where they lead.
 
These mats listed above lead into the logistics assignments. The logistics assignments combine with the combat/tactical assignments to give badges of the same name (ie logistics badge). The assignments also contribute to cenarion circle reputation. You will need both the badges and the reputation for the rewards listed below. These rewards are the most extensive and highest faction based items in the game, including the choice of 7 epic items for revered and exalted. This is a long grind for sure and, as Adam stated, each person will need to weigh the value for their toon.

The first reward quest is called “Cenarion Battlegear” and requires friendly reputation, 5 combat badges, 3 logistics badges, and 7 tactical badges. Once you collect the various badges you can choose between:
1. Gloves of Earthen Power – leather AC 109 Int 9 +27 damage/heals
2. Band of Earthen Wrath – ring +8 int +1 spell crit +3 mana/5 secs
3. Earthweave Cloak – cloak AC 44 Agi 15 +1 hit

The second reward quest is called “Veterans Battlegear” and requires honored reputation, 7 combat badges, 4 logistics badges, and 4 tactical badges. Once you collect the various badges you can choose between:
1. Grace of Earth – trinket that reduces threat
2. Band of Earthen Might – ring +6 str +1 crit +1 hit
3. Earthen Power Vest – cloth chest AC 93 Int 22 +1 spell crit + 25 damage/heals

The third quest is called “Stalwarts Battlegear” and requires revered reputation, 15 combat badges, 20 logistics badges, 17 tactical badges, and a Mark of Cenarius. Once you collect the various badges you can choose between these epic items:
1. Deeprock Bracers (epic) – plate wrist AC 309 10 str 10 agi 8 sta
2. Earthcalm Orb (epic) – offhand 10 int 8 mana/5 sec +18 heals
3. Rockfury bracers (epic) – cloth wrist AC 42 7 fire resist +27 damage/heals +1 hit spells
4. Might of Cenarius (epic) – ring +8 sta + 4 wep damage + 1 hit

The fourth quest is called “Champions Battlegear” and requires exalted reputation, 20 combat badges, 15 logistics badges, 20 tactical badges, and a Mark of Romulus. Once you collect the various badges you can choose between these epic items:
1. Fist of Cenarius (epic) – 62.6 dps 2H Mace 3.5 spd +40 damage/heals +2 crit spells
2. Wrath of Cenarius (epic) – ring Equip: chance to increase +132 damage for 10 secs
3. Earthstrike (epic) – trinket Use: Increase AP by 280 for 20 secs (reported to have a 2 min cooldown)
