Pray for me / Praise!

I'm currently in the hospital being treated for a blood clot in my leg. Please pray for me and my family. My wife is very worried.

Jan 2nd I woke up with what felt like a leg cramp in my left calf. I ignored it. Jan 3rd it was a little worse. Jan 4th it was getting worse but I had to start my 7 days of day shift so I went in to work. Did a little research on the interent and WebMD and decided it was either a blood clot or an infected lymph node in my leg. Started taking some pennicillin had left over from my recent root canal gone wrong. Ran out of pennicillian on Saturday. The pain in my calf had gotten better but my knee was still really sore and stiff. By Monday the pain in my calf was getting bad again and my knee was still very sore. Same story Tuesday which was my last shift. Wednesday morning I arive in the ER and now I'm typing to you from the hospital WiFi in my own room.

The clot probably moved from my calf to above my knee but God kept me safe for 10 days until I was able to get here.

ouch. will do.

sidenote: it's never a good idea to have "extra" antibiotics. they're intended to be taken until they're gone, even if you feel better... the infection could still be lingering. The prescription is usually written for a regiment that will kill common infections. You could actually be hurting yourself more than helping by shorting a cycle, or taking them for new infections.

Thanks for the prayers. Please pray for my wife. She's very scared and upset.

It looks like I'm gonna be here all weekend. I have clots in my left lung but the right is clear. My heart also shows no signs of clots.

The hematologist currently does not plan to install filters but wants to up my bloodthinner levels a bit more. Several tests are planned or have been done to check for genetic causes.

My hematologist is great but I've had to fire my attending physician. That was a really enjoyable experience...

I'm out of the hospital!

I still have some clots in my leg and my left lung that will take up to two months to completely dissolve. I'm on blood thinners but until the levels build up in my blood, I have to keep stabbing myself in the belly every 12 hours and give myself this huge shot. Ah well, beats being dead I guess.

Leg still hurts and if I talk too much I start coughing really bad. Wife and daughter are ok but still a little shook up about the whole deal.

I really appreciate all the prayer, thoughts and support. Please continue to keep my wife and daughter in prayer.

Glad to hear you are out of hospital, will continue to keep you in prayers.
