My power supply fan has always been a load creature, sounding like a Cesna propeller. So when te noise stopped a week ago I became concerned.
I also noticed that whenever I did intensive things like 3D Modelling the power supply became very hot and not soon after the system would shut down very abruptly (presumably because THE BIOS has a safeguard to shutdown when things heat up too much.)
So I decided to install a new power supply.I am going to purposefully play a few hours of Quake to see if everything is fine or if it still shuts down.
