So is Aion any good? I haven't tried it yet, but was wwondering what everyone thought. :) I am looking for a good solid MMO for a while...

I suppose the answer is in large subject to what you want. Aion is pvp based, an excelles at it. With the balance of classes set to group combat an not 1v1. Things work out pretty well.
The main meat of the game is in the Abyss. (A fly anywhere area) The abyss has forts that the 2 factions fight over, with a 3rd NPC faction mixing things up.

I enjoy the battle system. An you complete custom make your character. Which means that no-one else will look the same as you.

If had to mention downsides. You don't get to pvp until you hit lvl 25. Which is probably around 15hrs of playing time. And the game is still new, and has not yet had the time to build mass content like wow. But I find it meets the needs. Also they will be adding a large amount to the game by the end of the year. Trailor About half that will be released in May and the rest at the end of the year.

If you want to pm your e-mail. I can get you set up wit a 7 day trial, that will allow you to lvl 7.

Thanks! I was going to download the client this evening...I played a week or so back when it first came out, but I didn't have alot of time to devote to it. But I am looking for a game that has pvp. But also from what I have read and seen, does not just hand stuff over to you easily. You really have to EARN your gear and achievements. Anyways, not that I am out to power level, I am very casual...so it may be a while before I hit the HIGH ranks. : ) Anyways, I am going to just purchase the discs since I can get them for $30 right now. Besides i like to have a hard copy if i can of the games I play.

Thanks, I am still praying about the monthly fee...I used to play WoW *cough* and it just absorbed me to much in terms of addiction. So I am hoping Aion doesn't do the same thing. I know there is TIME involved but not life. :) hehe Anyways, look forward to hopefully joining.

You do have to earn your stuff but I don't think it's that bad. There are 4 tiers off quality. White - basic, Green - good, Blue - Very good, Gold - Awesome.
Green is what you use for most of the game, an blue when you have the extra $$. Gold well, I don't know how other people get it but it's not something I will see anytime soon.
The 1st character is the hardest to get going. But once you have him up to about 30, you can use his extra $ for your alts. Of course we will also help you get started as well. :)

Were casual play, so it's all good. An I always encourage our members to put God and RL 1st. We've been more focused on getting everyone to a place where we group together recently. An have been fun running the instances together.

Welcome to the game.. have fun, and dont over do it right away.. pace yourself, or later around lvl 40 you could burn out for a while.. well maybe not, depends if you run one toon , or more.
