Please pray for me

Today was not a good day..

As many of you know I started working at Lockheed Martin about 2 months ago. What you may not know is that I was hired by Ashley's mom in order to replace 2 employees whose performance was sub standard. Luckily for me I was great at the work and was able to quickly learn what I needed to know and was actually to a point where I was surpassing many of my co-workers. There is something to be said about men and women of God serving him through their work.

I work under 2 bosses. Ashley's mom and another guy named Jay. Ashley's mom made sure to seperate herself from any sort of performance reviews of my work so there would never be a conflict of interest. My excellent performance reviews came from Jay.

Last week the 2 people I was hired to replace were both given their 2 weeks notice and let go. One of them pitched a fit and went over my bosses head to their boss. She told them that the only reason she was fired was because I was going to be Cathy's (Ashley's mom) son in law. Cathy and Jay's boss told Cathy and Jay that Lockheed could not have that kind of rumor floating around.. so I was let go as well.

The meeting I had with them was frustrating. They told me where I stood in relation to the other employees (3rd out of 9 after only having been there for 2 months). They told me that they had tried to make it not happen, but that their boss told them there could not be any rumors floating around about that and that I had to be let go. So here I am... working my heart out, pouring myself fully into my work, and now I am without a job because the person who was fired could not believe that their work was the issue.

So where does that leave me?

I have no job.
I cannot get married in the Fall because I don't have a job.
I have to move out of the place where I am living now and move back in with my parents because I have no income.

Please pray for me. I need for God to show up in a big way.
 
I'm glad my husband didn't know the "you can't get married until you have a job" rule. I think that rule is up there with the "We aren't having kids until we are financially secure" rule.
 
The most frustrating part is that it isn't about the recession.. it's about someone not wanting to get fired who started saying that the only reason I wasn't fired instead of them was because I was engaged to the bosses daughter :/
 
OH man this is a serious serious bummer.

Lord Jesus! You are God! We don't ask for a handout or a blessing, God, but we ask that your will be done in Bill's life. We ask that your presence will be with him and guide him through this valley.
 
There is a vast difference between the fired and laid off up here (in Canada) at least and what you describe is the latter. Think more positively. Its great that you have your family as a safety net but don't give up on your independence/wedding etc so easy :-)

Thanks for the encouragement goblit. I'm pretty wrecked right now with all this. Plus the added stress of some possible medical concerns with my type 1 diabetes coming from not having medical insurance (that's a long story) I just feel beaten right now. I need God to lift me up big time. This is a test of faith for sure.
 
:( I was excited when you said you worked for Lockheed (where I might like to work after college) but I thought the prayer request was going to have something to do with a conflict with the replaced workers... And then I saw you got laid off too...

Praying. :)

P.S.: Would there happen to be a job for you at a nearby Boeing instead? :P
 
Ohhh, :( will they at least give you a good reference? That is so very unethical, but it is very hard when you get relatives working in same place. God be with you. Maybe he's getting you away from potential swine flu?
 
I just found out that the person who got fired last week for bad performance, who went to my boss's boss and complained about unfair treatment is getting to keep their job and I'm getting fired instead because they are worried about "how it looks".

Please pray for me.. I am pretty upset right now. That is so unethical. How does something like this happen? Someone who is good at their job and gets excellent performance reviews gets fired and the person who was going to get fired even before I started working here because she doesn't do good work get's to keep her job?
 
True, but I bet they didn't get the job because they "knew" the boss either at least that is likely how it looked to everyone when you were hired. Sounds like a good situation to be out of though. Go find that window that God opened for you and see where it goes!
 
I know it's hard, but you need to not dwell on what happened and think positivity.

We are all praying for ya!

Things will work out in the best of ways, you'll see!
 
I work for Lockheed in Colorado Springs Bill. They are looking for someone with communications maintenance experience and a clearance. I'm not sure what it is that you do or if you're willing to relocate but if you're interested let me know.

I recently got out of the Air Force and was very worried about not getting a job but the Lord came through for me. Have faith! :)
 
Bel, Lockheed is more or less an airplane manufacturer (to put it simply). I work on their technical publications (kinda like car user manuals, but for airplanes).

And Proud, that's cool that you work for Lockheed! Weird that we both work for the same company haha (for now at least lol). That is a cool sounding offer, but my life is here in Atlanta. I appreciate you letting me know, but at this point in my life I need to stay here because of Ashley going to school and this is where my family and friends are. Thanks though!
 
Bill, you know Cit and I are praying for you! We love you brother and are believing for the best to come out of this situation. Call us! We are here for you in RL and in game! praying....
 
I am submitting my resume to another job within Lockheed Martin today and it looks good. I've already spoken to several people within the department, have been referred by people who know the manager doing the hiring and it is right down my alley: graphic design. Please pray that this opportunity pans out! I will be getting paid more and will be doing something I'm great at.
