If you have a copy of Mario Strikers Charged for the Wii, be sure to add my Friends code before Tuesday, August 14. I have to return the game next Tuesday, but want to play it online a few times before my time runs out.

You can find my Friends code on this thread in the Tribe of Judah forums.

Be sure to also check out the Wii Codes thread and the DS Friends Codes thread.

A friend of mine brought this over, we had some four player action. Great game, I don't usually like soccer games but this was hard to put down with multi player.

I might have seen this thread to late, but I preordered Mario Strikers and have had it since release. It's a lot of fun!

What's your Friends code? Maybe we can play a match before I return the game Tuesday night.

There's a thread over in Tribe of Judah General Discussion dedicated to Wii Friends (game-specific) codes. You could post the code over there as well, if you'd like. :)

I've added you to my Friends roster.

We'll have to play sometime today or this evening though because I have class tomorrow night.
Sounds good to me.

I played two matches online this afternoon (to take a break from cleaning and packing). I had to stop after two because I was getting ready to throw the Remote at the TV. I'm sure the game can be fun in a casual setting, but the online multiplayer is, for me, extremely frustrating.

Still, I'm up for a game against someone I know. I just don't plan on going back online to play against strangers.

sorry, school plus the new job has been consuming. If you have a chance to buy it or rent it again, let me know and we'll play.

I doubt I'll rent it again any time soon and I have no plans to buy it.

What's most frustrating about Mario Strikers Charged is seeing how it could have been so much more fun with a few adjustments:
  • Remove megastrikes from the game completely--or at least from online play. Failing that, provide an option to turn off megastrikes. Megastrikes ruin the competitive feeling of the game. I can work an entire match to score 2 goals against an opponent with strong defense, only to get knocked out of the match with a single megastrike that scores 3 goals.
  • Allow players to skip all cinematics. Better yet, provide an option to disable them altogether. Disable all cinematics in online play. We don't need to see Mario free-falling from the sky before every single match. Megastrike animations are even more frustrating. It's bad enough that my opponent is probably about to score multiple goals; having to watch the full megastrike animation every time is like a slap in the face.
  • Improve the controls for switching players. I don't know how this would be done, but it would be a great improvement on the game. It's incredibly frustrating to have to cycle through every character just to to get to the one closest to an opponent about to fire up a megastrike.
Those are the biggest flaws in the game I can think of off the top of my head.

The game is so close to being fun that I know I'll check out the next installment in the series. I just don't plan on buying Mario Strikers Charged.

If I get a hankerin' for a competitive sports game before then, I'll just go play NBA Jam. :D

Sorry you didn't like it. Personally, I love it!

The cinematics are annoying, but megastrikes are very easy to block and happen rarely online if your defense is good. Just move near the opponent and give them a hard hit and the ball is yours. Switching players doesn't really bother me either. It's similar to most other sports video games.

I'll just patiently await the next online Wii game to meet up with you then. Smash Brothers and Mario Kart will probably be the next two purchases for me (if my Xbox 360/Halo 3 purchase doesn't happen)

And please continue to do so! I typed out a few posts in frustration after losing some online matches, so it's possible I would have discovered a fondness for the game over time. Either way, I think people should try games out for themselves before trusting other peoples' reviews. Try the game and decide for yourself.

I plan on pre-ordering Mario Kart Wii as soon as possible. I'll be posting my Friends code for MK to the forums the day I get the game. :D

I haven't played this online but I've played some multi player and it is a blast. Doing 2vs2 or having 4 people on a team going for the different cups is great. The megastrikes take a bit of time to learn to counter but as long as you don't send every player down field usually it's possible to stop them.

The cheap stuff I've run into is not the megastrikes but some of the characters normal moves. Like Dry Bones who can port past the goalie or Boo going invisible into the goal. In some of the later cpu matches the computer does them constantly which is harder to stop them the megastrikes.

I know! I hate it when games do that. The only thing you can do to vent frustration is grumble as you press a "skip" button--too bad they don't have it in this game :(
