Piano and Camera...

My 12 year old cousin has a piano teacher, but he teaches himself most of the stuff he knows how to play by ear. He taught me how to play the theme from the Halloween movies.

I'm very pleased that you've got the piece sectionalized and are playing the less-familiar sections slower - that is a very smart approach.

err my piano teacher wants me to play them all the same speed and right now i'm not allowed to practice it even at the pace i played in those videos xD
it's still fun but it gets old... at least it's a piece i don't have to be forced to practice (there are no others that i have played so far that i'll practice a lot without being told to o.0)

Playing by ear is a great skill (and one which I certainly don't have), but it can make learning to play from actual music very challenging...

Not that I can play piano, but I'm well-educated about the theories and stuff behind teaching it. :)
