Patch 2.0: How to solve lag and fps issues in WoW 2.0

Previous to this patch 2.0, players had a wdb file, that contained a cache of items/mobs/etc. In 2.0 Blizzard moved it. It should be in the new Cache folder, but mine wasnt. I manually added a WDB, then an enGB folder into the cache folder (Cache\WDB\enGB) and my framerate went up, my network traffic went down, and I got a bunch of cache files put into that folder by the wow client.

By creating a WDB folder inside your Cache folder, and then enGB folder (\World of Warcraft\Cache\WDB\enGB); your enGB folder will get populated with:
Quote:
creaturecache.wdb
gameobjectcache.wdb
itemcache.wdb
itemnamecache.wdb
itemtextcache.wdb
npccache.wdb
pagetextcache.wdb
questcache.wdb
wowcache.wdb

This solved all my fps and latency/ping issues which appeared with patch 2.0.

Thanks to EJ crew for this tip.

Edit: Well, I found this post from the original guy that discovered the WDB folder missing, and he has enUS listed, so I am thinking that those with a US account would have it set up like this: \World of Warcraft\Cache\WDB\enUS
Please correct me if I am wrong though.

Im trying to track this down, and have been running some utilities, like filemon, to see whats happening. In doing so, I noticed a wierd issue.

In the past, we had a wdb file, that contained a cache of items/mobs/etc. In 2.0 they moved it. It is supposed to be in the new Cache folder, but mine wasnt. I manually added a WDB, then an enUS folder into the cache folder (Cache\WDB\enUS) and my framerate went up, my network traffic went down, and I got a bunch of cache files put into that folder by the wow client.

I am not too computer savvy, but I am wondering if the enGB folder should be enUS for us? Can some smart like person let me know? :) I am going to try this as it seems to help from all the posts on it.

Edit:

I think I have found it...see post above, but be sure to correct me if I am wrong.

My conversion went properly, I guess. My WDB folder is gone and all I have to replace it is ...\World of Warcraft\Cache. No WDB folder at all.

Maybe it's because we are minimalists in Canada. ;)

They are saying that is the problem Merril. There is not a WDB folder, and there is supposed to be. You would open your cache folder, create a new folder and name it WDB, open the new WDB folder and create a new folder in it named enUS. From the posts that I have read, doing this is decreasing the lag and increasing frame rate.
