Here is what is sure to be another celebrated quote among those hostile to Christianity.

"'You know, I don't know about this doctrine of assassination, but if he thinks we're trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it,' Robertson said. 'It's a whole lot cheaper than starting a war ... and I don't think any oil shipments will stop.'"

I have no problem with assassination if all other options have been explored and there is a leader that would attack and kill innocent human beings without a second thought. However, Robertson saying this outloud wasn't the brightest thing he's ever done.

If I was Chavez I'd be finding ANYONE to sell oil to that wasn't the US - increasingly you're going to see that as the big stick held over the head of the US. And you're increasingly going to see the US taking military action or covert action to protect Oil Imports.

Interesting times, people.

He has suggested in the past that a meteor could strike Florida because of unofficial "Gay Days" at Disney World and that feminism caused women to kill their children, practice witchcraft and become lesbians.

didn't pat roberts blame september 11th on gays and abortion.

And as eon said remember the 10 commandments, if he's the guy thats supposed to be on tv trying to bring more people to christianity he's doing a great job.
I think I read him say something about feminism being as big a threat as communism (or terrorism, one of the two), because it makes women commit adultry, kill their kids and practice witchcraft.
People want to know y Islam is the new "it" religion, I think its because of great people like pat, who people look at and see as the face of christianity. He's the guy on tv which people see, he should learn to keep his mouth shut.
 
Saying "There are many definitions of 'Take him out' I meant one other than kill." is not apologising for a mistake. I thought that Pat was more than clear about what he said, I just don't think he was clear how everyone would react.

The comment was dumb (even though i agree because im on the edge of being red neck thanks to my dad) it shouldnt be said but the way they change it and say the big word like assasinate is just liberal plain old liberal....

I think you're grasping at straws. The stupid thing may be that he said it, but the morally reprehensible thing is that he thought it. And THIS MAN is trying to tell you how to think to be a moral person. That's the difference.

If a CIA agent tells me "I've got a really hard job. The world isn't made up of Blacks and Whites, it's all shades of grey. Sometimes when I do a bad thing it has good consequences, and that's what it's all about - the ends justify the means." then I'm willing to accept that. If a guy who's job it is to teach ethics tells me the same thing, I'm beginning to wonder how much he gets paid per hour, and whether I couldn't ditch this whole Games Designing business to become a demagogue.
