Microsoft publishes an article with the heading:

A parent's primer to computer slang
Understand how your kids communicate online to help protect them

For example,
"pwn": A typo-deliberate version of own, a slang term that means to dominate. This could also be spelled "0\/\/n3d" or "pwn3d," among other variations. Online video game bullies or "griefers" often use this term.

Funny? Ridiculous? Just had to share...you can view this very imformative article for yourself here.

hmmmmmm. these people have way to much time on there hands to come up with ideas about what to right on.

Um. I just have a feeling this is going to be hellish, quite literally, for our younger gamer friends.

I know many Christian parents who just get carried away.

I use "pwnt" and variations thereof (poonted, poontarded, pownt, la la, so on so forth) with my friends all the time when just goofing around, but I am no means a bully, it's all in good natured goofing around.

Some parents are going to see "bullies" and freak out and make some poor kid get rid of their computer because they used the "word" pwnt.

</3, Microsoft. Clarify, you multi-billionaire dunces!
