Paladin's received a nerf to the massive damage they were doing on the beta server and received a couple of updates. One is an active mana regen spell called , Divine Plea


Finally, Divine Plea, the new Holy spell attainable at level 71 is a 6 second channel spell restoring 50% of your maximum mana. The spell graphic is you kneeling with a symbol over your head that fades after about a second. The channel ticks at 3 and 6 seconds, although right now, this spell is effected by haste.

I'm sad :( Ret got nerfed. But holy got buffed, typical.

Retribution

Vindication: Gives the Paladin's damaging attacks a chance to reduce the target's attributes by 10/20% for 15 seconds (was only melee attacks and 3 Pts for 5/10/15%).
Pursuit of Justice: Reduces the chance you'll be hit by spells by 1/2% and increases movement and mounted movement speed by 8/15%. This does not stack with other movement speed increasing effects (was 3 Pts for 1/2/3% reduced chance to be hit by spells and 5/10/15% speed increase).
Eye for an Eye: All criticals against you cause 10/20% of the damage taken to the attacker as well. The damage caused by Eye for an Eye will not exceed 50% of the Paladin's total health (was 15/30% damage return for spell attacks only).
The Art of War: Reduces all damage taken by 1/2/3% and gives your Hand of Freedom a 33/66/100% chance to remove Stun effects.
Righteous Vengeance: Increases critical damage bonus of your Judgement and Divine Storm spells by 5/10/15/20/25% (was 3/6/9/12/15% for all damage criticals).
Divine Storm: Mana cost changed to 20% of base mana up from 12%.

Holy

New Spell: Divine Plea (5 Minutes cooldown, Channeled): While channeling this spell, you gain 50% of your total mana over 6 seconds.
Reworked: Divine Protection (118 Mana, 5 Minutes cooldown): Reduces all damage taken by 50% for 12 seconds, but increases the time between your attacks by 50%. Once protected, the target cannot be made invulnerable by Divine Shield, Divine Protection or Hand of Protection again for 180 seconds.
Forbearance: Now lasts 3 minutes.
Seals: All seal spells now last 2 minutes.
Holy Shock: Rank 1 mana cost reduced from 335 to 245. Healing increased from 351-379 to 481-519 (Blasts the target with Holy energy, causing 314 to 340 Holy damage to an enemy, or 481 to 519 healing to an ally).
Enlightened Judgements: Chance to hit added (Increases the range of your Judgement spells by 10/20 yards and increases your chance to hit by 2/4%).
Beacon of Light: Mana cost reduced from 780 to 675.

Protection

Guardian's Favor: Tooltip corrected (Blessing of Freedom renamed to Hand of Freedom).
Divine Guardian: This talent now affects Divine Shield and Divine Protection (While Divine Shield or Divine Protection is active 15/30% of all damage taken by party or raid members within 30 yards is redirected to the Paladin.).
Guarded by the Light: Reduces the mana cost of your Consecration, Holy Wrath and Avenger's Shield spells by 15/30% (was "Whenever you parry or dodge an attack you have a 10/20% chance to reduce the mana cost of your next Consecration, Holy Wrath or Avenger's Shield spell by 25/50%").

Another cool new spell for all paladins learned at lv80. This is the spell that's replacing the "Hand of Purity" spell that Blizzard announced at Blizzcon.

Sacred Shield Each time the target takes damage they gain a Sacred Shield, absorbing 500 damage. They cannot gain this effect more than once every 6 seconds. Lasts 30 Seconds.

Beta Ret Pally

New Beta build 8681 added a new graphic for Divine Storm and for Concecrate. In the first video you can briefly see the new graphic but check out this dudes damage. He is wearing Season 4 gear so he's very well geared but WOW. After soloing 2 elites he has full mana! Also check out the cool shadows. I'd also recommend watching youtube videos that offer a high resolution version that way.

wow I wonder if you get the threat from Divine Guardian when you take the extra damage, that sounds fun!
 
why does a holy pally need to regain 50% of his mana every 5 min?
i think divine protection maybe better, but then it sounds like a semi-backup-bubble.
i don't know....

Mana drain stinks... and the fact that you can't pot any more than once in combat now. That's right, you get ONE pot per combat. You must go out of combat before you can drink another pot. Blizzard is putting in mana regen for all mana-based classes because they want to lessen the importance of consumables.

Divine Protection = Shield wall for Prot pallies!

I don't think I have ever had to drink once since switching to Ret. The mana regen is amazing.
 
Ya from the videos I've seen Ret will have no mana issues anymore. I'm soooo happy I don't have to chain drink pots anymore to keep up decent DPS.
 
And a good thing too, since it now appears chain-potting will be impossible--once you drink a potion in the current build, you can't drink another (or even use a mana gem, although that part may be a bug) until you're out of combat.
 
I found this forum that I've been reading at work. I'm learning all kinds of good stuff from the Beta. Apparently Ret pallys will be decent tanks for 5 mans while leveling up.

Prot paladin DPSing in Ret gear

Druids aren't happy that they will still be considered OT's. there are a lot of fights where only one tank is needed and they offer more DPS then a prot warrior or pally does. I don't understand the complaint here. They get to DPS and tank with ONE talent tree.

And Ret is looking amazing...

I hope that the mana regen is a lot. I usually use 2 or 3 mana pots in a boss fight. If the regen is slow, I am going to be a bad healer.
 
That's probably someone from the Continent, where a lot of countries reverse our use of . and , in numbers, and actually meant sixteen-hundred.
