Overclocking Madness

Recently I bought parts to build a duel core opty desktop, anyway, this thing overclocks like mad, currently it is running at 2.7Ghz(from 1.8), a 50%!!! overclock. And it still has room to go

I played guild wars for 8 hours on it yesterday, average temp is: 35C cpu, 46C pwr area, 48C north bridge. Im gonna push it some more today, then acutally bring my ram up over 500mhz instead of using a async connection.

I just wish i had spent money on a water cooler, i could probably push it over 3 ghz then lol

and your system bus is taking it?

try running cpuz on ur comp, i bet system bus is pushing 2ghz, which can be bad on some mobos. Your ram CLs are probably out of wack or jacked up if you still running 1:1

my ram is running 3/4 and the ht is set to 3x (instead of 5), im still tweaking as i go up the ladder.

actually the optys do have a fsb, usually its resultant clock speed or ht link, every cpu that talks with a northbridge has to have one. In this case my fsb is 1200mhz(300mhz fsb x 4x multiplier on the ht link)
