OK, Now What?

Well, after 14 game-days and change Samage and Shebaely have hit 60. We have arrived. Now the question is, what have we arrived at? Shebaely needs to work on reputation for her Tailoring/Enchanting professions. She has a goal, something to strive toward.

I, on the other hand, am a simple commodities broker; I pick herbs, skin mobs, and sell it all on the AH. No rep is needed for that. With the upcoming expansion, gathering skills will be even more profitable, so I plan keeping what I have.

The Argent Dawn has a nice little dagger that I'd like to buy but it takes 300 bone fragments and 300 of something else. I can stand grinding for a while, but that is just a tad too much.

I do want to tour all the instances, but I'm not sure what prerequesites they may have. Also, I'm told I need crystal water from DM. Maybe that's where I need to start. Can any mages clue me in on how I get it?

I know just how youre feeling - that was me a couple months ago. But I found out that, for one, there are still a lot of quests to do at 60 and although no XP, you get $$ and rep. You may also think about changing a profession. I picked up enchanting now at 60 cause I had the same skills (herb/skin) as you. And as far as instances: go for the class set maybe - pieces drop in L/UBRS, Strat, Scholo...that's my first goal - my Beaststalker set.
There is a whole new game to explore once you hit 60, ad its definitely a little different from 1-59

You will gather alot of the items you need for your AD dagger from drops in scholo and strat while you are looking for better gear. It will not take as long as you think to gather the necessary turn in items because you will be grinding the instances for your gear and while doing that gaining rep.

As has been stated, there are alot of quests for BRS, Scholo and Strat. Not to mention AQ and ZG.

As for how to get into some instances, you walk through the car wash. For others though you will need to get keyed/attuned. BWL, MC and Onyxia all require you to do something before you can go in. Naxx just requires you to either grind your way to get in or purchase entry.

The good water is not required but highly recommended that you get it. People look at you funny if you are a L60 mage and do not have the good water.

It definately is a whole new game at 60. For now it is no longer "I can't wait to get to 60" but more of "wow, I can't wait till I get <insert item here>".

Do all the quests you can and gather up a nice stockpile of gold. It helps to have a little in the bank for when you start new characters to play with while you are waiting for a run to start up.

Oh and congrats to you both. It seems to me that the first one is the hardest to get to 60.

Firstly, congrats to you both! What a long road you've already travelled, yet so much longer is the road ahead.

As for pre-reqs... there are none for 5- and 10-man runs. Again, Strat Live/Dead, Scholomance, BRD, and U/LBRS are where you get your gear that let you progress on to MC, ZG, AQ, etc (Although we don't have a gear requirement for ZG, it makes it easier if you have better gear. You'll see a difference yourself when you play.)

As for the water, the basics of it are this:

Goto DM North, Library. You will either need a key from DM:E, or someone that has the key to let you in. You can actually solo this portion (or you & 1 more to get into the library). Inside the library will be a quest giver that will have you kill a water elemental in DM:E. Unfortunately, I can't remember either name.

The elemental is in the basement of DM:E. It's a fairly easy fight.

Return to DM:N Library and turn in the quest. Wha-la! Crystal Water. If you need more info, I can help you out once I get home. If you need someone to go along, I'd be more than happy to help you get in & out of instances to get your water, as well. Let me know.

The game really starts at level 60. Fun a few instances to get a feel for level 60 groups. Then you might want to think about a respec. Talk to people in the guild with 60s of your class. Once you have decided on a spec, think about loot. www.wow-loot.com is a great place for loot info. You will probably spend a couple of months in the 5-10 man instances. Once you get the gear you want out of those, you might think about MC/ZG and eventuall AQ/BWL. (In other words, 20 and 40 man instances)
