Now you have an idea...

...of what my program is like! For those of you who don't know, I just started the 15 month Radiation Therapy program here at Loma Linda University in SoCal. We are in the middle of mid-terms and I thought I'd share with all of you some of the things I'm learning. So here's part of the mid-term I had to take in the Radiation Physics class I'm currently taking. gl and hf?

don't feel sorry for you, I know what Rad Techs make. Have fun! :)

Good thing I'm already a Rad Tech and studying for my certificate to be a Rad therapist! Now I just need a job. Think Bill has any good pointers?

<3 bill :-P

It's the rad man!

Seriously though, if you are studying this stuff, it's not really a big deal. You get immersed in it, you study it, you get tested on it, you take exams on it. The trick is keeping on top of it all. And anybody who wants to be a Rad Man, seems to be the type of person who not only will stay on top of it all, but likes to dig deep to find the answers.

All puns, intentional or otherwise, are fully intended!

I see from the first page you were reqired to turn in your answer sheet. Did you do that?!

If you like what you do, then it should be no big deal.

...this is starting to bring back nasty memories from Chemistry.

<Runs back to Psychology and gets ambushed by formulas for variability and standard deviation....>

NOOOOOoooo!

Anyway, good luck :)

That stuff is easy... There is only one right reply, otherwise it's wrong... The stuff I'm studing has people all reading the same thing and it is possible to have each person with a different view. That is frustrating... It amazes me how Pastors keep their sanity

Really Mordos? *sits back in his therapy chair* How does this make you feel? Perhaps it stems from a latent childhood memory of a cupcake that was stolen from the top of the refrigirator... Go with that....

That will be $200, please... :D

lol I opened the first attachment, barfed inwardly, went and emersed myself in my artwork to feel better, then came back to post....I hate coming within a 10 foot radius of math...haha!

No i didnt really do those things but i did immediately click it off my screen as soon as it opened :P bad memories of last years calculas class..

Grats Angry on all your hard work :) we need people like you in the world.

<Kicks Bringeroflight out of his chair... and starts to charge more.>

Im glad I am not going through that kind of math... :D

Math is nothing more then a language. It is so much easier for me to go through formula's of Quantum Theories then to sit down and write a 1000 word essay on what the destruction of the Conch meant in The Lord of the Flies. (And I had to edit this post for spelling mistakes. At least with math I know I've made a mistake when the final answer is no where near the expected answer. How do you that in English? It is not even though I actually made a spelling mistake, I used right instead of write. So the post still sounded correct. Essay's and reports is what is dumbfounding.)

At least you get a lot of questions to screw up on. In my physics courses, the prof gave four questions per exam and four on the final. If you messed up one calculation, you were in C territory :) On top of that, he didn't make the answers so that they were so wildly off that you could guess...he'd use common errors such as failing to multiply by a negative when considering motion going in reverse along an axis and all sorts of fun stuff. Still got an A though :)

word. I'd much rather hash out equations than write an essay!

Thats why I'm dreading my Radiation Oncology mid-term tomorrow. Expect more screenies!

I can totally testify to that. dealing with the syntax of language and the etymology of words is so, so difficult.

I'm kind of the opposite of this. I like writing essays and interpreting symbolism and meanings of alot of things. I'm not so into the cut and dry "this is how it is" kinds of things like math and some sciences (though they're not very definitive as it is). I like thinking about things that aren't just the main facts to everyone. You can tell someone 2 + 2 = 4 t mostly anyone and they'll agree with you, but you can talk to someone about certain things about Religion, Psychology, the Arts, Music, and a whole bunch of other razzmatazz and you can get a whole plethora of ideas and opinions from many people who all think that's how it is. I'm not a fan of absolutes usually and more towards the outside box thinking. Probably it's how my mind works that I can't stand to just memorize formulas and equations to solve some problem that I'll probably not need to do anymore for the rest of my life, which is probably why I didn't like math too much in college (learning all the basics was fine because I actually use that).
