Newbie saying hello!

Hi everyone!

I've been searching for a Christian gamers forum and found this one (and ToJ/SoE) through Google. I'm so glad I found a site that is Christ centered and for the serious gamer.

I'm pretty new to online gaming/role playing, but I caught the fever pretty quickly after purchasing Guild Wars. I was playing a free online game called Martial Heros, but I lost interest in it. Seems like it was over run with teens who just wanted a glorified chat room and filthy language.

My in game name is Katnu Sarai, and my character is an E/Me lvl 8 (soon to be 9 though before the weekend is over, maybe even 10). That's her in my avatar. I feel so overwhelmed with the game and all that can be done with characters, guilds, armor, weapons, etc. But I'm eager to learn and play a serious game. I'm trying to be a fire Elementalist. I have tons of questions too!

Anyway, I'd like to join your guild if you're willing to have a newbie along. Hopefully I can learn some tips and tricks along the way. I'd love to be able to learn all I can and then be able to share with others that come along who are where I am now... a newbie!

Looking forward to great gaming and Christ centered fellowship! :)

Welcome. The best advice I can give a new person is Guildwiki.com. excellent resource and it will answer alot of questions for you. If we can be of any help just ask. We like meeting new people and welcoming them iunto our guild.

Hello!

Im pretty sure you will fit in. We have several friendly people who are experienced in pvp and pve, so feel free to ask questions ingame or ask via PM untill we can get you invited to the guild (you do need to be a ToJ member to join).

Good choice on choosing the elementalist as your first char, I enjoyed playing mine, but found little use for it as I prefer Playing the Monk and Warrior.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I will look into guildwiki and do some studying! I just got to level 9 tonight and would like to be level 10 by Monday.

I also just joined ToJ the other day, infact I joined there before I joined here. I do enjoy the elementalist, especially the fire spells. I'm thinking about my next character being a warrior, but I'm not sure yet. Gotta focus on one at a time. LOL...

:)

Id recommend taking the dive and making a monk, go ahead and finish getting your ele to lvl20 before you create the next char. that is unless you get bored or stuck and want to create another one.

I usually only have one character at a time that I am lvling up.

since your in the damage side of things you may want to try the channeling/communing style of play for the ritualist, it can be deadly effective when done right.

I'm just about to sear my Mo/Me that is lvl 9. Perhaps we can meet up in game and quest together, since we are at same place.

Welcome Katnu...

I also have a couple of characters near your level, so feel free to holler at me anytime. Just look for any character listed in my signature...they are all known as Ash. My first was a fire elementalist, but I have recently devoted some Air Spiking to him lately (really good for PvP).

I'm glad you found us all, I am kind of new here myself, but SoE is a great guild with great people, I thank God that I found them for my son and I to play with. He is also very knowledgeable and is Gabriel or Gabe in game...last name changes depending on character.

Welcome! to the forums our guild is in expansion mode and forming a second guild since Anet in its wisdom will not let us gro past 100 members (Guild Cap) So we have to beginadding members to the sister guild which will be open in about 1 week. A few SoE members will be moving over to the new guild to keep what we are all about in firm place and make every feel that it is the same guild. I may recommend getting to know everyone on Teamspeak! We are on there all the time chatting away about Life, God, and Guild Wars and many other things. A few of us have been known to talk on TS (Teamspeak) till the wee hours in the morning and not even be playing the game. I now have many friends through this game that i hope last a life time! And that second Guild that is forming is still SoE and we are 1 guild it will not be two separate guilds same leadership everything. And if you need any help you can ask me anytime my Characters are in my Sig!

That sounds good. I'll make note of your name and look you up when I sign on again. I usually end up playing at night. In fact the last two nights I was up until 1am playing (Pacific Time).

I will look you up too! My son is also into Guild Wars and he plays during the day. He's a W/E level 9 and he caught on way quicker than I did. His character's name is Wild Burst. Maybe he can join here also at some point. He's a big time gamer who plays PC games, but mostly PlayStation, Game Cube and his Gameboy.

Thank you for the information. I'm hoping to be able to join a guild here soon. I'm also eager to check out Teamspeak, but I have to wait for an invite to the guild first, don't I? I'm an active member on another very large Christian message board and I've been known to be in their chat room into the late hours also. I love fellowshipping with other belivers.

Thanks again for the warm welcome! :)

No everyone is welcome on our Teamspeak server. It is very well monitored. Have had problems in past with people trying to mess with us but Talon does an amazing job and running our server. I will pm you the info.

Welcome Katnu! If you need any pointers on how to effectively incinerate your opponents, I'm your source of info. :D

Thank you very much. Are those your Guild Wars ingame name in your sig? I look forward to learning more about how to use my fire skills better.

Welcome, Katnu! I always love meeting new people. (Yes, I also always say that, but I really do mean it!) My husband and I share two accounts (one of which is switching to Spirit of Elisha), so it can get confusing...but he likes people, too, so it's okay.

Welcome Katnu. Glad you found us and I'll be looking forward to meeting you sometime over TS or online. While you're waiting to join a guild please feel free to join in on our Bible study, 8:30 EST on Thursday nights, and also Monday and/or Friday night PvP. (You don't have to have a high level char for PvP, but just an open slot for creating a PvP only character.)

Thank you! I'm hoping to get my husband on Guild Wars too, but his lap top is older and can't handle it. Perhaps around Christmas he can get a new one and join the addiction. :)

Thank you! I do have a slot open for a PvP character. My son has two of my slots and I have my main character and one that I'm going to delete, leaving me an open one for the PvP.

I look forward to meeting you all. :)
