New way to obtain mounts.

After hearing about it in Guild Chat last night, and reading about it on the forums, I figured I'd post about it here to clear things up. Keep in mind, I do not have a clue on how the lvl 40/60 lock/pally mounts will work. I have not found enough information on this yet. When I do, I'll post it up.

To get your mount, level 40 and lvl 60 mounts, you will need to purchase the training skill.
"You will train the riding skill like purchasing another tier in a profession. Apprentice for the first available mounts, Journeyman for epic mounts."

" Rank 11 mounts, and the AV faction mounts should only require apprentice level riding skill."

"All mounts will now be bind on pickup, and purchasing non-racial mounts will require an appropriate level of faction."

What this means for us players is this. Using the epic mount as an example, 900g for the mount itself is no longer required. Purchasing Journeyman Riding Skill will now be 900g and the mount itself will be 100g. After you purchase the Jouneyman Riding Skill for 900g, you will then be able to purchase mounts of your faction, and other factions, for 100g. You still HAVE to have the exalted reputation with other cities if you would like to ride one of their mounts. What this does is it makes it so you do not have to pay 900g every time to buy a mount. If you would like 2 mounts because you like 2 different colors, 1800g is not required any more. What would be required is for you to pay 900g for the riding skill, 100g for your first mount you like, and 100g for the next mount that you like.

Now, for your level 40 mount. You will need to buy Apprentice Riding Skill for 90g. Your mount will then be 10g. Unless you have Exalted status with another city, you will only be able to ride your racial mount, not others. The odds of you having exalted status with another city by level 40 is none, so don't worry about it. What this does do though is if you are for example a Gnome and purchase a red mechanostrider (like myself), and later on decide that you would like a blue one (like myself), you do not have to spend 90g for each. You will buy the Apprentice Riding Skill for 90g, and then can purchase a red mechanostrider for 10g, and a blue one for 10g.

Hope this helps clear things up a bit and also informs those who did not know about the new changes.

Enjoy,

Chris
