Hey guys what's going on? I just bought WoW today and just set up my account and i'm ready to login in for the first time. i've never played a MMORPG before. i was wondering how i could catch up to you guys in the game. any help or tips for noobs would be appreciated. thanks.
 
Make sure you make your character on Stonemaul as alliance. To get in touch with one of us, type:

/who redeemed

This will show you a list of all the redeemed members currently playing. You can then send a message (refered to in game as a tell) by using the tell command. So say I am online and you wanted to contact me you would type:

/t sandric This is Darth Irish from ToJ, can you help me out

And hopefully you will pick someone who can help you out or at least direct you to one of the leaders.

I'm still wallowing in self-pity...my attempt is to submerse myself in a fantasy world in hopes that I will forget about the game :)
 
At the moment there are issues with the new patch so no one can invite you to the guild......Blizz keeps saying that they are aware of the problem and thank you for your patience....until they get it fixed there is always teamspeak to join us in.
 
thanks for the info guys. it's kinda overwhelming starting this game, but i've read reviews that said this game is very noob friendly. i'm excited to start playing. i just have a question.

first of all, plankeye said i can join on the stonemaul as alliance. is that on the PvP server or the PvE server? i don't want to do PvP quite yet. or am I confused?

maybe someone could explain this to me. i've read the manual and i think i understand but any help will be appreciated.

Stonemaul is a PvP server, but don't worry you'll get used to it, and most likely come to enjoy it. It can be a pain at times, but it adds suspense and excitement that you won't find on PvE servers. And when you're getting ganked, remember that eventually that can be you dishing out the punishment, it alway makes me feel a bit better.

yep what shade said...basically the difference between PvP and PvE server is that on PVP server you're always "flagged" (that means the opposite faction can attack you) in neutral territories...On PvE they can't. On PvE you have to initiate it by typing /pvp. In your own territory the opposite faction cannot attack you on either type server, but you get flagged if you attack em. So basically if you see a opposite faction guy in your starting area don't touch him. Sometimes you'll see a lowbie in your home area, but usually they're accompanied by stealthed high levels in order to trick ya, so don't fall for it either.

Yea, and you don't have to worry about getting ganked too much. I'm lvl 25 and have only gotten killed by the horde once outside of the battle grounds. Until you're up in your 20's you shouldn't really be in the contested territories anyway so as long as you don't attack that lvl 60 running by you first you'll be fine.
 
Personally I prefer pvp server, I have tried a pve server and it's just not my cup of tea. Playing on a pvp server is like playing counterstrike but a lot better, there are no wall hacks. If you like to smash people pvp is for you (this also means people will smash you too), if you like to smash bots pve is for you (bots do fight back but not as good as people).
 
Invites are working again...whisper Klangdon, Goblit, Papatoad. Sassperilla, Fjorboug or Scrapy for an invite to the guild on Stonemaul :-) I look forward to meeting you :-)
