The Music Wire

I've launched a public beta of my new site, The Music Wire. At the moment, it's a music information site, but the cool part is any user can add to or edit the database of music.

Go check it out, and then let me know what you think. If you come across any errors, or have ideas for improvements, post away! =)

Nice!

"Page appear messed up? Get Firefox!"

Heh, so did you design it for firefox? Or just not bother testing it in IE?

Yes, it's designed mainly for Firefox, but it appears OK in IE. I did manage to get a few bugs worked out for IE, but I won't stress over them.

98% of all hits thus far have been on non-IE browsers, so I think we're safe.

I use Mint stats, by the way. Very nice, and well worth the $$.

Nice site! What kind of music am I allowed to put on there? I seem to recall you didn't want hardcore/metaly stuff on your site.

Just put whatever music you want through there. Once it's submitted, I'll look it over. If it seems OK, then I'll let it through. If not, I'll just be deleted.

I mostly want to keep the "death metal" stuff out, but I guess it really depends on the artist/cd. It's no different from Mix radio stations not playing rap.

I also don't wish to start another debate about the whole death metal and Christianity thing. =/

Unfortunately, I'm forced to use IE at work and I have to tell you that the main page is hosed in IE. The title on top and the 'sidebar-a' on the left are fine but the 'content' is displayed at the bottom of the page after 'sidebar-a' ends. You might have to set a specific width for the table under <div id='content'> instead of 100%.

Are you using a certain wiki software or did you develop the backend yourself?

Thanks for the note about IE. I'll get that checked out.

Also, I developed the whole thing from scratch. =)
