New raid coordinator

Elihu

Tribe of Judah Staff Manager
Everyone give a big thanks to Miriallia (Corin) for stepping up and taking on a huge role that has not been taken as of yet, Raid Coordinator. Thanks Miri!!

"evil control freak Miria appears and pummels laid back Miria into the ground" Bahahahaha, you're all doomed now! *cackles....urk* *struggle, thump thump, pow!*

*ahem* sorry bout that. He gets out sometimes... >.>;;

Looking forward to working with Avesther on setting up guild stuff and Stoop and others for the HK runs.

My main thought right now is just to get some details organized and everyone on the same page. This includes but is not limited to:

Communication - Teamspeak for everyone - you can have it on listen only (don't needa mic)
Ventrillo for raids with HK and others - again can be listen only
These are critical for ease of communication.

Addons - Standard Addons like whispercast, ctraid, guildads, etc. I will try to provide info on setting these up since some of them can be intimidating. These help with efficiency.

Quests - Clear out important quests for people: mage water, keyed for MC, (Ony, BWL), etc.

Bank - It would be nice to try and start raising more funds for the bank and also to organize it better with generally more useful stuff like crafting materials, higher end recipes, and rarer equipment (like bracers, gloves, and belts of the class sets). We might see about implementing a reimbursement thing from the bank for donations. Also for lowbie stuff that you don't need, I would suggest selling it and then donating cash. Cash is more flexible and doesn't take up inventory slots :-D

Crafting - I would like to start encouraging people to pursue skills other than enchanting. I'm obviously not going to tell you can't do enchanting, but the guild really needs other crafting skills. Engineering (repair bots, goblin rez cables, utility in BGS, etc), Leatherworking (end game crafts like cloak of warding, hide of the wild, MC fire resist recipes), Smithing (tanking gear like stronghold gaunts, weapons like arc reaper, etc), and Alchemy (hp/mp pots, elixirs and flasks). If we're still lacking some skills, it might be worth it to susidize someone with some guild funds.

Practice - Get people used to running as a guild: Getting people in different roles (like having plds tank for practice, and also as a healer), techniques (like pulling multi adds, tanking multi adds, etc.), communication (via TS/vent), expendables - these can tip the favor from a close wipe to victory (stat boosting food/potions, health potions, manapotions, runes, felwood plant drops, etc)

Phat Lootzorz - Might need to work out some kind of more official loot rules. This is somewhat in light of trying to boost guild funds. This might include just DEing and selling most shards of unneeded BoP and then adding that to the guild funds.

Cookies. Everyone must learn to make cookies. cookies are good.

Any other ideas? These are also by no means set in stone, I'm very open to suggestions!

This is alot of stuff, it'll take time to implement and I will need help, but I think it will be good for getting us working well together. Hopefully it'll help us to be able to tackle bigger stuff in the future.

Sorry that was a long post, I hope you'll still take the time to read it!! :-D

God bless,
Your crazy OCD control freak raid coordinator,

First off thanks for the input Miri on the ideas you have for the new position and we look forward to hearing and seeing them come to pass. Gob, to address your question, the council is setup to be my group of trusted individuals on making TOUGH decisions. The decision to put Miri in this position when he volunteered was not a TOUGH one in my opinion. I feel that I made a good choice by going ahead and promoting him to do this. This is not a solo position either. It requires some help from other members, which I hope to see happen. TOUGH decisions include those regarding punishment for actions made by guild members and or situations with others that may arise. They may sometimes include a choice on what volunteers are more suited to fill a position if deemed necessary. I want to ensure that everyone has a chance to do something they want in the guild, so I don't have many limitations on positions. To be honest, I have not had any other volunteers for this position since I posted it on forums 3-4 months back either, so if there are others who are wanting to step up for this position I have not been made aware of it by anyone at this point. The council are also the people I trust to weigh out the pro's and con's of every TOUGH decision and throw it back to me to let me make a final decision on. I hope this helps to explain the reasoning of the council members.

Before this I have no record of PM's or posts from anyone Goblit...and lets try to keep the attitude in check please. I do my best to keep up with what happens in forums and in guild and if I have overloooked anyone I am sorry. If somone did apply earlier, they should notify me immediately so I may discuss the postion with them. This is a group effort thing and to attack anyone rather than try to help is out of place.
