I was born after the original series. But Uhura was in the movies right up 'til Star Trek VI...and those WERE in my lifetime. In fact, I saw all of them in the theater, except Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
But my parents were both Trek fans, so I was raised on the reruns.
You poor, poor thing.
