New mechwarrior movie?

I heard somewhere that Paramount is trying to get the rights to do a Mechwarrior moive. If they do get the rights, it would be set in the new Dark Age timeline (I wit=sh it was the Classic timeline), and would be produced by Dean Devlin (Independance Day, Eight Legged Freaks). Sounds neat, but my Miss Cleo voice says it is going to suck. Oh well, atleast it would look cool.

be great, hopefully it's in the same timeline
where theres madcats and masakari's, it
would have been good if I can control
a masakari in mech 4 mercenaries game but
at least I can control a gladiator mech.

whenever i think of a movie derived from a video game
i'm reminded of wing commander and i shudder at the mere thought
 
What about the super mario brothers movie? That was disgusting. I'd probably love the movie anyway because I'm a battletech freak and all. Mechwarrior games are by far my favorite of all time.
