ok I changed the color scheme but I desperately need a new logo. Anyone want to help me make one?

Feel free to vote again with the new color scheme. Let me know if you still don't like.
 
Colors are much much much better now. The only criticism I have is that I personally don't care for the gray at the top (in the header next to the logo)

That's just my personal opinion though. Otherwise I think it looks great! ;)
 
For those interested, you CAN register to join the new site. Just be careful when filling in the Refer line. I think you can only fill in an actual member's screen name. So, probably either 'CCGR' or just leave it blank.

well this would be a big job..was thinking maybe have the console site go to it first (that way Drew can edit his site and not need me!) and if it takes off I'll convert my 200+ plus page site...which people seem to like as is anyways...

Did you look at the quick layout? ( http://www.creationindigital.com/preview.jpg ). What did you think?

If Drew wants a different layout then it would be best to keep the sites split. But if he doesn't mind having the one above (or one like it) then I don't see why the sites should be split up. In the long run it would just make more work. You could have two separate sections for console reviews and computer.

That brings us to a name change... like I said before, christiangamer.org would be awesome if it's now available

Nice design.. From a design point of view there are two main things that grab my eye.

Multiple highlight colours... yellow/green/purple. Usually different levels of the same colour is more aesthetically pleasing.

Random shadows around the boxes.. is that my browser? it gives everything a bizarre shape and breaks the flow.

Other than that its super. I love blaze's design also.
 
well I tried all grays and it looked too plain to I tried to implement some of the same colors from the current site.

Why is site change such a hassle....

Chage domains hmm....would require a redirect because Google just loves CCGR.ORG

Hey CCGR,

 I like both your and BlazeQ's designs, though I think I like Blaze's a tad better (looks more Gamespot/spy-ish).  Anyways, leave the forum to the forum - don't put any "latest topics" thing on the site, cause it'll only clutter things up.  I love that idea of the featured review/article section on Blaze's template (which you could replicate on yours).  That is very cool and professional.  As far as changing the domain, I don't think it really matters.  CCGR is fine, and so is christiangamer.org.

 Anyways, I'm about halfway through my C&C Generals review, so you should be getting it any day now.  I've also got a review for the LotR: Fellowship of the Ring game lined up.  I'm just blitzing on the last remnants of school so I can finish in time for my summer job.
 
Yeah, that is a good idea, leaving latest posts off of the main page.  After all the main focus is on the reviews and the content, not the community.

Cheryl, does your host let you park more than one domain for your site? I know a few hosts that do, but I don't know if it's very common.  That would let you have both domains pointing to the same thing without using a redirect. If not, you could use either domain as a redirect pointing to the other one. Shouldn't matter to the search engines

Even if you don't change the domain I think a name change would be good. Because soon you may be serving not only computer game reviews, but dishing out files, news, and console reviews (if the sites merge) as well.

I have a fair amount of experience with PHP and MySQL and a little with ASP and MDB. I know I can implement most of what I've posted and the rest just takes some experimentation. As with every site change/development, planning is key and it happens to be one of my favorite parts

my existing host doesn't let me park domains...that I know of. I'd rather not switch hosts as the unlimited bandwidth is essential.
 
Yeah, I don't think you would have to switch hosts over the domain. If you do get christiangamer.org then you could just redirect and maybe later make it the main domain and ccgr.org a redirect. It's nothing critical at this point.

If you would like my help, would you rather discuss the site structure on the forum, through email, or IM?

IM would be the best...MSN messenger or AIM is the best for me since I can access at work and at home.
 
i know little to nothing about web design but i made a page. If i can do any graphix or owt then let me know.. I will do anyones work..lol
