Hi everyone!
My name is Matt. I'm a member of ToJ and I am interested in joining Redeemed. Here is a little about me.
(long post disclaimer)
I used to play WoW quite a bit in the BC days and at the beginning of WotLK. I quit playing for a number of reasons (burnt out, family stuff, not a great guild environment, etc.) but with the impending release of Cata I am looking to play again. I am really looking forward to playing with a Christian guild. When I played before I played with a few friends from my church and a couple other friends who are not believers but that was pretty much it. I was in a few different guilds but really didn't find the environment encouraging or edifying. All they seemed to care about was progressing and loot. I grew tired of it and ended up quitting.
However, being away from the game for so long has made me interested in playing again, especially for the updated old world content and the prospect of being in an encouraging, fun and edifying guild with fellow believers. I am not a hardcore raider. When I played previously I was Horde (Shadow Priest and Resto Druid). I raided lightly and mostly did Heroics. I am looking to reroll Alliance to experience this side of things and mostly to join Redeemed.
I just want to have fun and not worry too much about end game content right now. Just hang out with fellow believers and enjoy the game. Time will tell if I want to get serious about end game or if I just want to play casually.
Needless to say I will probably need some help and advice as time goes on since I have been away for such a long time. It's a little intimidating to come back knowing that so much has changed but I'm sure things will come back to me and I'll get the hang of it in time. Right now I am planning on rolling a Worgen Druid as I greatly enjoyed my previous experience as a Druid. I really enjoy healing so if I end up doing end game stuff that's what I will most likely do.
I will have to wait till Dec. 7th to create my toon so I don't know what my in game name will be. Once I am in game, who do I contact for an invite? I am really looking forward to playing with all of you and getting to know you and just being in a friendly, encouraging environment. I think it will greatly enhance the experience and hopefully I can bring something positive to the table as well.
Thanks for reading this rather long winded intro. Look forward to seeing you all in game. Till then...
God bless,
Matt
