I mean the global LFG channel :) I'm just curious...what do you guys think about the new LFG channel? I find myself having to leave it alot. It may be a nice idea but people are abusing it. Whatcha guys think?
 
I think its great... I can advertise for a group anywhere in the game. I made a seperate chat tab and only have LFG in there then I can click to look at the messages or keep it on default tab w/o the spam.
 
/leave 4. Its horrible. Its like a Worlddefense channel but everyone is invited. You cant possibly get a group together in the zone your leveling in because other people in other zones are too busy spamming.
 
To be honest, the only problem I have with it, is that so many people /leave 4 that I have to spam general for a group as well if I want to connect with them.

If everyone just put channel 4 on a separate tab and went there when they needed a group. It would be perfect. Make sure to ONLY have LFG on the tab, remove everything else from it. Then it makes scrolling to find people fairly easy. As I said, I love it.

Hopefully "Call to Arms" mod will be updated soon for 1.11 It parses the LFG channel and will only show the actual ppl looking for group w/o any duplicates or spam
 
Yeah I'm somewhat frustrated by it too. As if we need chuck norris jokes going global now. People complain in chat then others tell them to just leave but that's not the point. the point is it was made for grouping not chatting.
 
place it as a "Tab" next to the general one... then just click it to be "Brought to front" when you are LFG ... If you are parsing the LFG tab and someone whispers you, the "General" tab will flash to let you know to bring it "Back to front"

I have been in so many groups now that lost a member mid-stream and thanks to the new global LFG we got a replacement while still fighting. We never had to leave the instance or find someone in town to spread the word. That makes it worth its weight in Gold to me.

Its just new, once you tweak it like I mentioned and get used to it, I bet your opinion changes. I don't even notice chuck norris jokes. I simply tab to it, scroll looking for the words Scholo/UBRS etc. whisper and I'M out

Meh... i dont like having my chat boxes unlocked and fading in and out as i mouse over them... im a soloer anyway :)
 
Hey.. to each his own, thats what is so cool about the UI in the game. It is very customizable.

But FYI for anyone else reading. You don't leave the boxes unlocked and they dont fade in and out when you mouse over. You just click a small tab when you want to see LFG and then click General when you want to go back
