New Elementalist Questions

iirc= If I remember correctly.
And the dude is right outside of the Gates of Desolation. So its a little more than half-way through the story line. You can wiki it for the location. I was just on there and I remember 3 bosses in NF and the one in GWEN. So maybe there is another cap that is closer to where you are and easier than the GWEN one.

About the cap stuff, idk what happened. I just finished my skill hunter titles and that's never happened to be before. You know that the boss's body doesn't have to be present to be capped. I know elementals' (djinns and such) bodies dissolve into the ground when they are vanquished, but you can still cap their elite. Maybe it was just a bug. SF is a good skill, but not majorly important, imo (in my opinion). It drains a lot of energy, and unless you have 2+ SF eles its not as effective. But hopefully there is a cap close to you that is easier. If not hit me up in game and I'll help ya out.

iirc = "if I remember correctly" I believe.

It wasn't too bad for me to cap it in NF, and I don't think you have to go too far into the campaign to get it.

Thanks for the quick response - I'm hoping to have some time later tonight. I'm Pacific time so it will be way too late for anyone back east.

I've been wanting to do some Nightfall anyway - I might try to push the story line a little.

Thanks again - I'll look for you when I am on.

WOOT PST!!! =D

<-- Cali, I think I'm a few hours north of you. I don't remember. Or maybe your about an hr east of me.. idk.. But we've talked about it before ;) bottom line: PST FTW!

Seriously, SF isn't a hard cap in NF. You already have good advice on how to kill the boss. He's in Turai's Procession btw which is in Kourna. Once you complete the Consulate Docks mission you should be able to reach him.

Personally, I like Savannah Heat better, but thats a bit further along in the NF storyline, unless you feel up to finishing the Kathandrax dungeon.

I don't even know what Kathandrax dungeon is - I think I will run up to Turai's Procession or have another stab at Borrguus Blisterbark.

I should have SF by Monday.

Okay - so I found out what Kathandrax Dungeon is - I don't think I want to go there anytime soon - sounds dangerous.

I did cap Searing Flame in Turai's Procession.

Right now I'm trying a build of Aura of Restoration - Fire Attunement - Mark of Rodgort - Searing Flame - Fireball - Glowing Gaze - Liquid Flame - and rotating in Phoenix and Flame Djinn's Haste to take care of close up problems and to see what I like. I really miss Mind Blast - but that may be because Searing Flame doesn't seem to be functioning quite as I thought it would.

I am discovering that Searing Flame is not the cure-all I thought it would be - and I do miss Mind Blast. I guess I will go for Savannah Heat and see how that works out. Also - I set up Vekk as a fire elementalist as well. Like you suggested - Searing Flame works much better when there are two elementalists throwing it down.

I'm very impressed with playing an Elementalist, though. I started as a Monk and loved that - especially going out as a smiter. Then my Warrior let me really get into the battle with his hammer - loved that too. But WOW! An Elementalist is really fun. I think I am going to stick with him for a while and get through Night Fall and Eye of the North with him.

I'm off to get Pain Inverter for my elementalist.

Thanks for the advice on this thread.

Arcane Echo SH is the build I use about 90% of the time for everything but PvP (unless I'm doing AB and capping). I prefer the slow burn over spikes. :D

i am not that familiar with fire eles much but i found a good build while on pvxwiki.com and am thinking of testing it out. i wont be able to until december most likely but i can give the address to the site and you can check it out of you want. i will post again with the address.

sadly, the build was nowhere to be found. but on the flip side, my ele pvp char has a pretty good fire build so as soon as i can get on, i will get the skills and post it since i have no other way to tell you unless you are on. srry about not finding the build, but i will cont to look out for a good build as i cont my travels through the GW realm and while searching through PvXwiki.com

I'd appreciate that. I'm still experimenting with builds - so your PvP build would be nice to see.

I'm still having a great time with my Fire Elementalist. It is as much fun as when I discovered the power of holy damage with my Smiter Monk build.

I've started carrying Vekk as a Fire with the same build as mine. That was a blast in Magus Stones and Alcazia Tangle. The combination just devastated every group I came across. It even worked great against the Roaring Ether/Jinn groups up in the Mirror of Lyss. Once Olias puts together a meat shield up front Vekk and I let loose. I love seeing all the yellow numbers float up.

Thanks.

If you get boared of your fire ele. As I did eventually. Try this awesome lone farmer earth build

My only suggestion is to replace Balthazar’s Spirit with the elite ether renewal as it works so much better and you don't need monk as a secondary profession. BUT make sure you hit renewal only after all enchantments are up. Also do not, under any circumstances, use this build around mes or necro or anybody that can strip enchantments..you will die.

Renewal is prehaps one of the easiest elites to cap so you should be able to solo farm in no time.

BTW this build is just perfect for capping hydra, go and try the build for yourself in Crystal Desert to start. You can generally face off against 3 hydra and walk away with full HP and energy.

for an epically awesome solo farm, Glint's Challenge in EoTN is a riot. It can be done NM or HM, but in HM there is absolutely no room for error, so its a bit trickier.

Raptor Farming is fun too, but I prefer Glint's.

I'm in that same line - a good water build would be useful. Anyone with advice?

I'm not good with water builds and I've only been through that place once (and not using a water build...), but probably defensive would be best bet. Ward Against harm for an elite, bring along frigid armor, probably a water hex and glowing ice for energy. Fill the rest with whatever. :p

If you have any ranger heros have them bring winter and use whichever element you feel most comfortable with. This works with people too but sometimes pugs are hard to build.
