# Emblem System Changes

* Both the 10 and 25-player instances of the Crusaders' Coliseum drop a new Emblem of Triumph.
* Any dungeons that previously dropped Emblems of Heroism or Valor, such as Naxxramas or Heroic Halls of Stone, will now drop Emblems of Conquest instead. Emblems of Conquest can still be converted to Valor or Heroism.
* The Heroic dungeon daily quest will now reward 2 Emblems of Triumph and the normal daily dungeon quest will reward 1 Emblem of Triumph.
* The existing achievements to collect 1, 25, 50, etc. Emblems of Heroism, Valor, and Conquest have been converted to Feats of Strength since Heroism and Valor Emblems are no longer attainable.
* New achievements have been added to collect various amounts of any combination of emblems.

I doubt they will be changing emblems you already have to emblems of conquest, as you will still be able to substitute one conquest for 1 valor and so on. so once the patch hits, expect to be burning thru heroics like dry grass as well as OS/Naxx

I personally believe this is a good change. It will allow for quicker gearing of people who are just became 80. Getting T8.5 or equivalent gear from heroics is a good thing (for Redeemed anyway)

Strange though, all the armor I want are emblems of conquest (which seem to me higher than valor or heroism) If you can convert to valor or heroism, how come you can't 'purshase' conquest with valor or heroism. Guess I'll need to read up on stuff more and look into what feats of strength are going to be useful for.

If you were allowed to do it this way then there wouldn't be a point in having different kinds of emblems and they'd all be bunched up together into a single currency.

I don't like the change. It makes Ulduar nearly pointless and skipping entire tiers of content is lame imo.

I don't see it that way. Before WoTLK was released, Blizz developers did say that they planned on making progression in Wrath less linear, that you did not need to have all the best in slot gear in order to participate in new content. The badge change is a step towards that goal.

Unfortunately I do not like the change either. It looks to me like Blizzards constant pattern of dumbing down the game. When they make everything so accessible I see no point and no challenge and honestly I don't want to play that kind of game.

I guess that's why I am taking another break and playing a game with depth and challenge.... /sigh

They also said that they didn't like the way Badges of Justice played out and that players felt they had to farm Kara over and over to get T6 equivalent gear. They said that the new design of tiered badges would solve the issue and then they just throw it out the window and go back to the old model... ??? I'm all for accessible content but I don't see this as the way to do it. If the encounters are too hard then they should be nerfed. Gear progression should be fairly linear unless your skill can carry you further than your gear indicates. After raiding Uld10 for months they want us to go back to farming HEROICS and getting better gear then Uld10? I thought I was done running stupidly easy Heroics.

Badge gear is not best in slot, some (like tier tokens) might be BIS or second BIS. And not all slots are represented by badge gear. Those who choose to do the instances are still getting the bigger and better rewards for their efforts.

level the playing field for gear and it's about skill. that bothers some people, some people like it.

Well, what about the people who really enjoy questing, don't have the opportunities to get into raiding situations due to time restraints, but end up still spending a lot of time piece meal in the game. Shouldn't they, too, have an opportunity at getting good gear? Not everyone is of a raiding mentality.

Leveling the playing field is fine and it's already easy to tell when someone has skill.

The part I dislike is that many will feel their time is better spent in Heroics to get T8 upgrades than Ulduar, and they'd be right. There may be slightly better items from Ulduar25 then the badge gear but it's so slight that most won't bother to attempt a difficult 25 man raid to get them. I object to the change because I want to see all of Ulduar and I'd much rather it got nerfed and became the new PUGable raid than award Conquest badges from heroics.

I'm sorry but there should be 2 ways to get end game gear... and that's by participating in end game PVP or PVE. Someone who just hit 80 should go through the logical progression of gear, Heroics, Naxx, Uld. I know I'd be rather disappointed if I got handed full T9 for doing a simple quest. It's all about the carrot on a stick... if there was no carrot would we play? honestly?

The carrot is: Badge gear does not supply Best in Slot gear and it doesn't supply all slots. If you are wanting BIS gear or weapons, you can't rely on badges, you are going to need to get into end game content to get them.

I agree with you Proud about wanting to see all of Ulduar. And you are right Avesther about BIS items not coming from badges.

Instead of nerfing Ulduar they are buffing gear via availability such that hopefully the latter will bring out being able to see all of Ulduar.

I just wish Blizz would settle on a currency instead of having multiple emblems and then changing and then adding bla bla bla. Simplicity please! *grumble*
