Netflix recommendations

Well you certainly could, but if you kept the file on your HD longer then you kept the disk you probably violated copyrights.

oh my, I don't want to do that! Just wondering if that's what you did with the mail discs and why they have separate things like that. Sorry, and certainly would never do that!

I rented movies from iTunes occasionally, and bought 1 movie because I wanted to see it, and it wasn't avail for rent. That's the only movie I have, so didn't understand the concept of Instant Queue and the blu-ray thing. Thanks for helping me! So movies like Salt (which I really wanted to see) isn't avail unless on DVD right? That's how some movies get them more money? Just trying to understand why some stuff Instant and some not.

I haven't figured out the rationale for why some are instant view and others not. At first I thought it was older/newer or good/not-so-good - but sometimes newer movies are instant view and some older ones not and sometimes good movies are instant view and not-so-good are not.

My guess is there are some sort of licensing agreements about certain movies - kind of like the Beatles songs were, for ages.

I still find things I want to see on instant view - both TV and movies. I also have the $7.99 one at a time disc plan with all the time streaming - just to cover the movies I want to see that do not stream.

Correct Abba, they have agreements with certain studios / networks to show either both TV series and or movies. That's why you get a mix between new and old movies. When a new studio is added they open up there (usually) entire lineup of content.

Yup on firefly, writer is an atheist, as is lead character. I didn't feel it was too preachy, though. It's not like the show revolves around the primise like the golden compass did. I think the main conent warning here is there are a couple of scanty (like nudeness from an angle you can't really see) type scenes.

I had another good one to add, but forgot about it. Guess I'll have to wade through the recently watched and find out.

Same here on Firefly. Thoroughly enjoyed the show. The same atheist writer also did the screenplay for Toy Story. God only knows how many enjoyable shows and movies were done by atheists.

Well up to you. I to am sure there are other things atheists have written I've liked and never noticed them trying to make a point but that's not my point. I did notice with Firefly. That's what compelled me to look him up in the first place. I just can't gush over something with morals alien to mine.

Doctor Who.

Hopefully it was just me being up late and not seeing someone else recommending it, but if I'm the first I am terribly disappointed with you guys. :p

Seriously, this series has been getting progressively more and more epic. And season 6 looks to be just as good

If Dr Who has any of the content that Torchwood does, then it really isn't for you. The relationships tend to be with everyone regardless of who they are. Since the two series tend to link together....just not sure you two would enjoy them.

We used to watch the old Doctor Who series even going to a convention once and getting Jon Pertwee's signature. The new series was meh until they added the bisexual at which point we stopped watching and haven't been back.

While I like to watch foreign movies especially Bollywood, I do read synopsis & reviews of the movies first looking for any elements of the Hindu religion such as reincarnation. If it's in the movie, I won't watch it. That goes the same for other foreign language films such as Hebrew, Farsi, Punjabi, etc. If there's strong references to Allah, then I won't watch those either. Yes my Christian faith remains when I watch movies. The same goes for American movies involving an excessive amount of swearing, homosexual references, etc.

My favorite TV show is now available on Netflix Instant: The Wonder Years. It became available back in October and I've begun watching the entire series again since I missed several episodes. The Wonder Years is about a teenager growing up in the late 60s & early 70s. The is music awesome appropriate to the time setting. Daniel Stern, from the Home Alone movies narrates. I highly recommend it :)
