ok basically my hard drive is acting like poo. wont boot, giving me errors boot disk failure, insert system disk and press enter. and also my power button isnt working very well. takes multiple presses before working.

If you try and listen to the hard drive do you hear a clicky or funny noise where the hard drive is?
If your power button is'nt working well then check your motherboard capacitors to see if they are leaking or not
and if theres dust on your capacitors you can try dusting the
capacitors to see if it will help you.
If motherboard capacitors are good then see if all connections
are plugged in properly in the case and if it is then it sounds
like you need to replace the power supply.

run scandisk with a surface scan on the drive.

Don't think that will work. Chances are it is dead, it is also possible the controller went out so stick it in another machine to see if you can recover any of the data.
ok so i got a new error this morning: windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt system32/DRIVERS/pci.sys
you can attempt to repair this file by starting windows setup using the original setup cd-rom select R at the first screen to start repair.
ok anytime ive attempted this its screwed up my pc even more so, any specific instructions or known fixes that you guys are aware about?? and also could this be related to my new graphics card?

Put the drive into another machine, or buy an external enclosure and immediately copy data to a hard drive that you know is good.
