Need a New PC Game

Help! I've been away from PC gaming for awhile now, but I'd like to get a game to bring me with me on a three-week period out to sea. (I'm bringing my entire hard drive on the ship. Hehe>)

I'm thinking of games like Rise of Legends, Spellforce 2, Galactic Civilizations II and Civ IV + Expansion. What are your thoughts on these games, those of you who have played them? And this is purely for single-player experience, possibly with short gaming sessions and not two or three hour straight playtimes.

I've heard a lot of great things about Rise of Legends. 3 completely different factions, but it's got something for everyone.

Same here. PC Gamer gave it a good review.

I recommend Civ IV. 3 weeks will seem like 3 days playing that. Gal Civ II is definitely worth looking at. I played Gal Civ I and loved it as much as Civ. One of the best new features of Gal Civ II is that you can totally design the look of your ships. I've been wanting to get it but I haven't put enough hours into Civ IV yet due to my fixation with Guild Wars.

I've played Oblivion on the 360 and I'm not a FPS guy, but I appreciate the reccomendations. I have decided to go with Titan Quest. I love the genre and followed that game for many months leading up to its release. I played the demos for Galactic Civ II and Civ IV, and they're definitely on my list, too. GC II reminds me so much of my beloved Master of Orion! I just think that Titan Quest will be easier to play in short bursts rather than having to commit extended hours at any one time.

Age of empries 3 is another one to look at

i havent played 3 but i do play aoe2 on occasion. (like when my internet is down ect) and the single player is v.enjoyable
