Music sharing or stealing?

Now here's irony: After reading this story I hopped on Kazaa:Lite to see if I could DL some free John Denver.

LOL! Did any of you hear about Sen. Orin Hatch's (sp) proposal? He thinks that programs should be developed so that after 2 warnings, if you download music online your computer is, quote, "destroyed". How ridiculous =P

This is an interesting topic, though. I sometimes wonder if I am stealing...and I actually, to be honest, fear what the true answer may be...i know that my freind izip has stopped file sharing..what do you guys think?
 
I think Mr. Hatch should remove the beam from his own eye - after all, at least I don't advertise computer porn sites...

Do you realize the kind of war that would break out online if technology like that was authorized for recording industry companies? You'd have  alot of ticked off hackers with similar abilities attacking them right back. The recording industry wouldn't have a single computer system to its name left standing.

Because of that, I'd almost like to see it happen :).
 
It would be an interesting conflict, if only because we'd finally get to see how many of the white hat hackers are just black hat hackers with a day job, and vice versa...
