More Upgrading & Software advice

First, I'm really fed up with the Trial versions of Anti-Virus Programs, so I'd might as well get the actual Full version Anti-Virus software due to my incompatible OS.

Which is better; McAfee or Norton?

I've used them before, I prefer McAfee since Norton keep asking me to update or something would expire every time I turned on the PC. Annoying!

Second, I was looking up for PCI-E video cards and surprised there are barely any ATI X1900XTX.

This one looks good enough and I like them where its exactly as it is, 256 MB;256 bit.

Sure, there are others that are 512 MB, but most of them are either 128 or 256 bit, not a TRUE video card.

Everything on that video card is double to my X800XT PE, and the price looks good as well.

Though, if they have a 512MB thats 512 bit, I would get it IF I can use it.

Since my CPU is Athlon, might as well get a ATI video card.

And last, the Power Supply. The best that looks good is this one, it has enough Watts for the new PCI-E video card and the brand is good too.

Any advice or suggestions on those or others is greatly appreciated.

look into trend microsystems anti virus, they might support 64bit.

Trend Micro looks very good, though, no program from what I have looked says it supports 64bit. Maximum I see is Windows Pro.

The real problem is I can't find any Canadian computer retail stores that sells Trend Micro Anti-Virus program.

your 3800+ can't keep an x1900x card fed...it's not fast enough. IF you want to upgrade go for the 7900GS MAX. Otherwise keep your video card as it is as that's really the fastest thing your cpu can keep fed properly.

For ATI cards, whats the max and best brand I can go; x1900/GT? Sapphire, HIS, PowerColor?

I checked the 7900GS, they are slightly faster than the x1900 and 8 - 12 more pixel pipelines.

For Nvidia Cards, what brand is best; XFX, eVGA, BFG?

if u go to the trendmicro website they ship to canada i believe

My Norton hasn't done that "will expire if j00 duzzn't upgraed liek rite now!!" thing in forever. Since we actually paid for it, I mean.

after a bit more research i would go with the 7600GT. It will outperform your current cad and your cpu can keep it fed. in terms of what brand..i don't have real preference. every brand you ahve listed are very good brands.

Out-perform, yes, but not the rest.

Memory, almost 1500Mhz, but its 128-bit!

512MB:128BIT
Or
256MB:128MB PCI-E > 256MB:256BIT AGP?

If PCI-E that has more MB than BIT is better than AGP same MB and BIT, why and how is it better?

go look at the benchmarks. the 128 bit is not that big of a deteriment for where it's targeted. Also it allows you to fully use hte card...something you mos likely aren't going to be able to do with something faster.

How and where do I look at the benchmarks? Through Overclocking software? I have 1 for my current card but don't know how to use it. It also crashed when I boasted the memory & core to 1,000Mhz.
