One Question Test

This test only has one question, but it's a very important one. By giving an honest answer, you will discover where you stand morally. The test features an unlikely, completely fictional situation in which you will have to make a decision. Remember your answer needs to be honest, yet spontaneous.

THE SITUATION: You are in Miami, Florida. There is chaos all around you caused by a hurricane with severe flooding. This is a flood of biblical proportions. You are a photo-journalist working for a major newspaper, caught in the middle of this epic disaster. The situation is nearly hopeless. You're trying to shoot career-making photos. There are houses and people swirling around you, some disappearing under the water.

THE TEST: Suddenly you see a woman in the water. She is fighting for her life, trying not to be taken down with the debris. You move closer and she looks familiar. You suddenly realize its Hillary Clinton! At the same time you notice that the raging waters are about to take her under forever.

You have two options: You can save the life of Hillary Clinton or you can shoot a dramatic Pulitzer Prize winning photo, documenting the death of one of the world's most powerful women.

Here's the question, and please give an honest answer.

'Would you select high contrast color film, or would you go with the classic simplicity of black and white?'

Definitely high-contrast color. A moment like that deserves to be recorded exactly as it happened. :)

I'd think about it for a moment (I'm not a Hillary fan), then I'd choose the Jesus option: throw the camera in the water, save her life and show her the amazing grace and love of our God.

Depends on the lighting, really. I usually shoot ISO800 color but I am a fan of 1600/3200 black and white. Film grain is where it's at.

Seriously though, I'd probably just save her.

I would save her life, no question. No matter what her position is, God still loves her, and she still has a chance to be redeemed.

I would get personally shots of me saving her life that way I get famous and save her.

Disregarding this was not a serious post :p. It does raise an interesting question. Some politicians are at the very least accessories in legalized murder (abortion). If it were someone like Osama Bin Ladden it would actually be easier for me to save them as I could hand them over to the government and it would be unlikely they would continue killing people. However with politicians an act of mercy could result in millions dead. There has to be a point when talking is not enough and you do have to kill them I.E. revolution. Hmmm I guess it depends on if you believed they would continue on that path or that there may be a possibility of them doing the Paul thing. Then again one can never know for certain if a guy who just shot 10 people is going to kill the next 10 inline, even if he says so. Hillary could be a very powerful person to have on the pro-life side if she did do a 180. Even if she didn't change showing the world the mercy a pro-life person is capable of might be useful. I could give a sound bite like "I saved her because I'm pro-life and believe everyone has a right to live". Sigh I'm probably way to meek but I would probably attempt to save Hillary... along with any other stray animals... of course I can't swim O.0.

We all know Hillary is a superwoman who doesn't need any help from a man so it would never happen anyway:p

Nice one, that made me laugh but if it did happen, I wouldn't be selfish like that. So I would just throw my camera at her head to lessen the possiblity of her survival...lol. Nah, I'm just messing around, I would try to save even her.

On a not very serious note: Is there any gaurantee that she would even accept help from a male? or, if she did, would she claim to have done all the work as if you were not even there?

On a serious note: I'm not sure what the moral debate is. I hear from journalists all the time not getting involved when a great injustice is being done. ie...taking pictures of somebody dieing instead of attempting to rescue them. To me its simple, bye bye camera and I'll write a story later without pictures about how there is still common decency and common sense left in the world.

As for saving a politician of whom I don't agree with. Sure I would save them. I'd kick them in the bum as hard as I could afterwards. Because as much as they deserve the right to life (even if they think an unborn baby doesn't), they also deserve the swift kick in the bum afterwards.

Uh, guys... This was a *JOKE*. Of course I'd save her. From drowning.

Not that, uh... she'd ever be found...

I dunno. She could wreak a lot of havoc, IMO, with politics.

But I could get reward money and start a foundation to stop it. Hmm.

Well first off, i wouldnt have a photo camera. I'd have a helmet cam! That way i could save her, document it, AND get rich and famous! (or infamous...) :p

I guess it would also depend on how expensive the camera is.. maybe i would have to put it in its bag before i jumped in... and the water is probably really cold, i dont feel like getting wet and cold right now. I mean.. shes already in the water, she wanted to swim, i dont wanna... and where are the lifegaurds!!! Isnt it their job!? I think i'd call a lifegaurd to help her out...

What about the National Gaurd?? This is a national disaster we are talking about... or maybe the Gaurd threw her in there!!!

disregarding those answers i would save her. No matter who it is i would try. It could be the person that killed my mother and father, or it could be some guy i met on the streets.

although, maybe that her drowning is God's way of stopping the apocolypse..... ;)

My Dad was a wedding photographer for years, and he made me work for him in the photo lab. So I know that you should use the color film, because you can make a black-and-white photo from it using special photo paper & the black-and-white photo processing chemicals.

I'd save Hillary after she promised me a $BIG$ Reward and that she would go into ordinary life minding her own business. I'd capture that on video, too because still cameras are old hat you know. You can get photos from digital video.

After all, wasn't Hillary Clinton already President for eight years once before? Just because her marionette "Bill" made all the appearances doesn't allow her to get another term!
